Intake boot collapse - video


Everyone who has a GT should have one. I'm convinced now that I saw that video. Thanks for sharing!
 
Is there a trick to installing the accufab support? It's such a tight fit, I gave up after and hour of trying to install it....
 
Can't really use any lube or spray...so, blood sweat and tears - LOL
 
Leave the boot in the sun for a few hours, or use a heat gun on low an carefully heat the boot. Then the stiffner is easier to install.
 
I had the same problem. Take out the smaller OEM stiffner first. I just crushed it into pieces to get it out.

I agree on the sun, in my hands, Heat guns are difficult to warm a large piece uniformly and they can create Glossy spotting on Plastic like that. Soaking in hot tap water may help get uniform warmth too.
 
I believe you can spray windex on the support to make the process easier. Just be sure to allow it to dry completely afterwards.
