Just in case you ever wanted to embed a youtube video within your post, it's really simple in the newest version of vB.

Post your thread or reply as normal, and where you want to insert your video, click the icon above the text entry box that looks like a vertical filmstrip and paste the video url. It's the 5th icon in from the right hand side.

It supports YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, Hulu, Metacafe, Dailymotion and Google.

Voila:

Thanks Dave.

Not to mention that it keeps unnecessary files of the server.

I have been wondering how to do that. Thanks for posting directions.

Great vids guys!! :cheers

Question, I'm not to savvy on this stuff but I would like to know how I can save to my computer the great U tube videos that are shared by members in the general discussion area of our forum... an example would be the ones where the GT is introduced in detail.....Any help will be appreciated...
Thanks,
Bill

In general it is not possible to save a utube video to a local copy. There are some add ons that sit inbetween your browser and youtube and try to snag it off to the side. I've never had success.

If I understand the question properly, the answer is yes. Youtube Downloader (CNET has it) is the answer.

Just right click in the middle of a video (capturing the URL), and then you paste the URL into YouTube Downloader.

Ok I will locate the CNET... Thanks
Bill

I was ok until I saw paste and url in the same post. I don't like videos that much anyway.

Hi guyz, I'm a newby here with a photo (non video) question. From time to time I have still photos on my lap top that I would like to attach to a post or reply. Normally on other forums this is an easy process but when I click the insert image icon I do not find URLs on my photo gallery. Can someone give me some pointers?

You have to be a paying member to post I believe. Are you an owner?

Yes, I own Superformance GT40 MK1, P2505. She is completed and leaving the factory now on the container ship, CMA CGM Masai Mara, for the 2 month trip from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to the Port of New York. A shot of her on the shipping frame can be seen in my profile photo at left. So you are saying that even though my membership has been approved and I have posted my question about how I can add a still photo to future posts or replies, I have to be a paying member to attach photos?

You still show as new member. I believe posting pics needs at least gt owner.

This forum is primarily about the 2005+ generations of the ford gt. If you own only a gt40 replica you'll get much more relevant info at gt40s.com

Oops, I did not notice the post date, my bad. I am a member of gt40s.com, I appreciate your information and timely response. Feel free to remove my membership as a GT40 owner I have no intention of a FGT. Thanks, I do hope to see some of your members at the Woodward Dream Cruise near Detroit in August, the largest car cruise in America!

We have had quite a few owners with cars there the last 2 years. We were on Channel 7 news for a bit.

To all the GT folks, we are at Big Beaver (16 mile) and Woodward at the traffic light for S. bound Woodward to N bound. Our spot has large trees for shade and the light serves as a 4 wide drag race. Come by and hang out for a while! I would post photos but since I own a GT40 and not a FGT, it seems I can't. Calling B.S. on that! Nice vid tho...
