I know hanging christmas lights... missed yah man. :biggrin

Just got my plate renewal - $78/year. 6.5% tax in IL when I bought the car, but it was deductable. You guys complain all you want, but your stuff is deductable from your fed taxes. If you don't know that, you need better accountants.

Yeh, but to want extent depends on AMT! Some how I don't feel the tax deduction help me in CA, 8.25% sales tax and 10.8% income tax and property taxes on over priced homes! Most of which may not be deducted if you have a very good year.

Nothing is fully deductable after 120k as a single, and 80% max phase out reached before 200k, at least that's what I recall from doing my taxes for the last time in 2001. I used to laugh at my neighbor who would brag about how much money he was raking in and tell me how the interest on his boat was deductable as a second home.

The only true way to save money is to have a business that needs a ford GT. Of course the IRS is stepping up audits of rich people and S corps, so watch out for that too.

I can deal with the annuals, but it was that brutal first year transfer tax and registration that was PAINFUL!

That would take 36 to 38% of the sting out of it, but the 62 to 64% is all yours. Move to TX $70 on the car and $45 on my 55' boat. No property tax on either.

You know, I finally Googled Lago Vista and I see it's a home for the criminally insane. Wonder why they let you guys play with computers? No wonder you can't find a date for Indy.

Stop tempting me! I've been on the verge of an Austin relocation for several years. Just stopped and ate at the Oasis on my family drive/vacation across the country last July. It's only a matter of time...
