Wasn't the first Gulf paint job done by Galvin on a 2005? I think so... not 100% sure. Back when they did it the FGT's in Kal-fool-nia where going for way over MSRP.
I believe it was GALPIN. :thumbsup

I dont really think that he meant the cars on ebay were not "TOP NOTCH" but rather that alot of these high-end cars do not sell through a completed auction on ebay. As I have said many times, ebay is more of an advertising venue rather than an accurate example of what the prices are on Exotic cars. 90% of our inventory is sold outside of ebay. There are MANY top notch cars on ebay. Just gotta find them. There are also many NOT SO TOP NOTCH CARS on ebay as I have purchased them and then had to wholesale them at no profit or a loss as I will not sell questionable cars to my customers. Check any source you can find, there is nothing negative about any car that I have sold that I am aware of. I recently had a guy sell me a car with less than 800 miles that after I purchased it I found out the guy had some issue with the tranny and clutch. The guy knowingly sold it to me and with-held the information from me. Although the car was perfect, not a mark on it, and very low mileage, AND ford had already addressed the issues under warranty, after I found this out, I sold the car to a dealer Wholesale and disclosed this information to him. He sold it for a big profit and says the customer has never had an issue. I am glad of that, but I sold it in this matter to try to keep true to my goals and only sell what I consider is the BEST examples of Used FORD GTs and other high-end cars. I am sure at any point I could un-knowingly sell a car that has had a problem or problems in the past, but I do my best to buy my cars from original owners who I feel for the most part are TRUSTWORTHY. We/I aso do a very close inspection on all cars that pass through here
Also, I have only ONE car in my inventory at this moment that was purchased from ebay. I have had some in the past, but only one at the moment and I am very selective about the ones I purchase.
At anyrate, there are several places that good quality cars can be purchased, just do your homework on the car you are interested in. I run free carfax reports and ford warranty reports for anyone looking at any car. Does NOT have to be one of mine.
Shelby, I hope you know nothing in my previous post was intended to disparage your dealership or its use of Ebay. Rather, I was just disagreeing with my interpretation of Gulf's comment that cars on Ebay are not, across the board, of high quality.
Since I have started my search for a GT I have noticed that your dealership has purchased (or made offers on) several GT's that I was watching--a couple of which you beat me to the "buy it now." Someday I will find the perfect car before you do and avoid paying your markup.

I wouldn't say the cars on Ebay are not "real top notch."
For instance, Elite, which you say has 100% perfect cars, just bought two GT's from Ebay sellers recently and are now offering them for sale.
Stunts,
They wanted $279K in July 05 for that car. If they still have it I am amazed, wonder what the price is now? I heard they had 5-6 GTs in the special showroom?
You would also think that because it is not in original paint that the car would be the least expensive heritage out there... WHAT SAY THE FORUM MEMBERS HERE ON THAT?
05 GT not in ORIGINAL FACTORY NUMBER PAINT, but in heritage scheme... HOW MUCH?? $150K:confused Galpin does claim the paint job was 15K
I think STUNTS is talkin' 'bout the '05 that Galpin Ford had painted to look like Heritage paint scheme.
'Hard to tell th' players w/o a program! Thanks, "8"!
'Remind me to kick stunts in the butt at the 1st opprotunity for changin' horses in the middle of the stream... :tap:
