GT350 track car build

It does have a VIN but no air bags, no Cats, loud exhaust, cage, no door glass, polycarbonate windshield and rear. Even if I could drive it on the street I would not want to. Very dangerous.

Installed Ford Performance front anti roll bar, lowering springs, Maximum Motorsports camber plates.

Man that's gonna be fun...

What a great project. Thanks for the updates!

I drove this on the street twice, it was hilarious (and terrifying!)

MGW short shifter installed. Look at OEM for comparison.

I just went back and looked again, and wow, this is a very radical makeover. With the virtual "gutting" of the car, why start with the more expensive GT350 instead of a regular Mustang? Or even a body-in-white? What was special about the GT350 that couldn't be obtained with a less expensive starting point?

Just curious!

The engine, magnetic shocks, programming and such.

The body in white from what I know is a regular GT 5.0 body. I wanted a GT 350 front end. I bought a used car and got a pretty good deal. Plus the engine in this car has had extensive work. The economics was better with this car. KohR was asking way over $100,000 for a similar build.

Completed the install of the FRPP Aluminum cradle and diff bushings. Now I can put the IRS back on the car. I also installed GT 4 studs on all hubs. They are quite a bit longer than stock.

GT4 studs. They look like ARP studs just not anodized gold.

I absolutely love this build. We are getting together Sunday to put in a window net, fire system, and pull the trans to replace a small leak on our 91 escort lemons car, and I'm thinking about how much fun you are having, vs the basic tasks in front of us to be ready for the next season. Couldn't figure out totally why at first and then it hit me. Your car is clean, as in not dirty. I've never really wrenched on a car that clean that I was taking to the track. As to the cage, my 95 R is fully caged and I have kept tags on it. Don't really drive it much on the street, but it is convenient to test changes. Never have had any problems.

Thanks Steve. Yes it is fun working on a virtually new car. I’m getting to know the car well since I have touched almost every bolt on the car (Except for the engine and trans).

Installed Aerotech hood latches.

I put the MGW shifter in my car it feels super tight compared to the stocker.

Installed the CF splitter and test fit the new brake setup.

those aero pieces on the front look crazy

Installed a CF GT4 hood vent. Notice the GT4 splitter hardware is not a rod but a cable.
