For Christmas I bought my wife a new 24-70 2.8L lens, and then when I saw some of the video output, I went and bought a new Canon 7D (anyone wants a 40D, I've got a barely used one soon to be on eBay). In the past, you'd have to spend huge money to get the variety and quality of lenses to shoot this kind of video, but now you can do it with a reasonably priced digital camera. Full HD at 24p directly onto a memory card. Wide angle, telephoto, fisheye, whatever. All kinds of options.

This was the first video I messed around with. Obviously, it's nothing special, but I'll tell you what, it's going to make for some spectacular footage in the summer. And it gave me an excuse to start the GT for the first time in months. Threw in the last shot because it was wacky. And it does amazing photos. I can't wait to get a chance to do some quality GT photographing.

I see your gauges are still working!

75 psi at idle, cold....:lol

Geez, the outside looks dry with no snow. Can't you take it out?

Ed

You could, but you'd get salted. Actually this year they didn't salt the street, so I could make it almost 200 yards before hitting a main road, but then I'd have to either reverse back home or pull an Austin Powers and make a 30 point turn. Nobody takes out the toys until several solid spring rains wash the roads off.

What are you processing video with? What format are you uploading to YouTube with?

Congrats on the 7D, it's a very capable camera/video body.

I love the 24-70 L, having used both the 24-105 and the 24-70, personally, I feel the 24-70 has noticeably better color saturation. It's a beautiful lens and a joy to use, even if it has the weight of a brick.

Enjoy!

What no S65?

Regardless nice camera choice!
