Did you ever finish the motor light kit? I did not see it on your website but I do recall various posts on it. Just curious as I still think it would be very cool.

I have prototype #1 on my car, shipped and installed while we were at the rally in Dearborn. I love it and it really draws attention. Analog has sold quite a few more to other owners. Contact him directly if you want one. He has upgraded the wiring to black and now includes a fishtape to snake the wires with.

Jay, I think you should sue Audi. Got a patent for that device? It's standard equipment on the new mid-engine R8 according to the latest Winding Road.

I, for one, think they stole the glowing engine bay light from the GTSAVER!

Goto www.windingroad.com and register so you can download the online mag. I think the current issue shows that R8.

I'm serious. This is clearly a case where Jay came up with the use of an L.E.D in a application that is new and non-obvious. I know I'd never seen it before.

Regardless, I doubt "lights" are an "actionable" thing from a legal standpoint, though - UNLESS Jay has a patent...and I doubt one would be granted for something like that, unfortunately. :shrug

I have seen some dumb patents get approved. I believe Jay could have gotten a patent for the light, but probably didn't file one. Even if he had a patent for the light, collecting on it is another costly matter.

This weeks autoweek comments that it is an option, but you can turn it on with the key fob. Kind of cool......

Take my word for it, it is really cool to turn it on in the evening, Not quite as trick as a new Whipple or a bubble, but considerably cheaper and self-installable. Ford engineers at the rally spent quite some time looking it over.

Light status

All,

I do not have a patent on this since I do not consider it novel. The lighting kit for the GT does look "spooky" at night. I have never seen one in installed on a car with a polished Whipple blower, so Gulf GT is the first one to try this!

Yes, I have some in stock.

Thanks,

Jay
