GT Lighting upgrades - Engine Illumination / LED's

FYI, I installed the second prototype nuclear reactor light in the partking lot of the Ritz in Dearborn during Rally I. Fairly easy install, especially if you have a smaller hemostat (surgical blood clamp). This set-up is more trick, but also reeks of StormCat and his LED everywhere lights.

You still owe me a set of tools.........

Engine bay light kit

Pro install just means basic wiring knowledge..
The easiest way to install is to wire up to the parking lights at the rear of the car, and the LED's come on with the parking lights. More advanced if you run a switch to the cabin.

The optional wireless kit makes it easier to install externally within the engine bay and control from outside of the car.

The GT Guys have done a few installs as well - so maybe Rich can chime in with their install method.

Thanks Andrew,

Here are a few pics of the one of the cars we have put this kit on. This kit is very nice because it is so universal you can do pretty much whatever you want with it. On this particular car we put the lights in a more hidden location in the engine bay. We wired it up directly off of the passenger compartment fuse box (SJB) to a switch off of the OBDII connector on the drivers side. This owner wanted it wired to constant 12v so he could leave the light on at a car show and not have to worry about draining the battery with the parking lights on. There are lots of options for wiring as it is always up to the owner of that particular car. We did wire another one so the switch is in the rear screen assembly so he could switch it on and off from outside of the car. We also cut some of the lights off of the strip so it wasn't too overpowering in order to give it a nice "glow". Here again lots of options with this kit. These pics were taken in our shop with all the doors closed and all the lights off so it was completly dark for the pics.

Thanks for the Update Rich!

He is correct! Many options available.
You can go from Subtle to Eye popping intensity!

Go subtle if you want them on while driving.
But if you want more of a show look for display mount both of the strips up.

You can even add a switch to both so you can have one or two strips on.
Then you can have Show N' Go!

Best idea is to order the strips, play around with a 9V battery and placement and decide your wiring plan and mounting location.

Thanks Andrew,

Looks like She's Got Legs is now She's Got Lights.

Terry-really sharp. Throughout history great men have always been attracted to polished aluminum, chrome and red lights shinning in the night.:cheers

Thanks Al. That's why I bought my GT. :wink

I have the Illumination Kits in stock as well as the Interior Lights and License Plate Lights In LED's...

Your Flux Capacitor appears to be running "very" strong

Very cool STORMCAT

StormLight, show off the floor boards, or repost the link.

How many of you may be interested in the Remote controller kit for the Lighting kits? I have a source now - but need to buy 10 pcs to get a good price. The cost will be about $18 each kit
Please PM or post here..
