There are a few members of the community that are going to be running the Texas Mile this weekend. I just want to wish them all the best on a great, safe weekend. Make us proud, guys!:cheers

make sure you guys tape the hell out of your fender wells or your paint will get sandblasted :frown

the Texas mile does not clean their track :smash it was so bad that it pitted the wheels on my viper :mad

I just got an update from our boy, Texas GT. He just ran 217! Way to carry the Ford GT flag, Keith!

Nice !

WOW !!

GOOD SHOW !!

VERY IMPRESSIVE !!

Of Course It Is TEXAS.

Keith - Congratulations.

See you tomorrow Kieth. I should roll in around 9. Hopefully you can break 220 tomorrow. Cold air is coming.

Weather for Goliad, Texas: Sat. Low 43- High 76 with nnw winds 20-30 mph
Sunday Low 58- High 79 with nw winds 15-25 mph. Watch out for the winds. Good luck to all but be safe. Tomy PS Early morning runs may be the best times.

Quick update. A Supra just blew up and oiled the track so I've got a few minutes. There have been several engines let go today (a Viper just went by in the pits blowing smoke and dripping something out of his exhaust) but so far my Heffner Twin has held together just fine thank you.

Yes, 217 is my best so far but tomorrow is another day. Tanner Foust drove my car up and down the track at lunch shooting some footage and in his words "This thing is a beast!" Fubar, THughes, ART Racing and several other GTs are here.

With a cool morning and a little better driving, I hope to do 220 but if not, I'm perfectly happy with 217.

More updates later.:thumbsup

way to go keith !!

Word is that SW's Supra went 246 mph this morn at the texas mile. If so, WOW!!!!

Yes. Congratulations to Texas GT for setting a new Ford GT standing mile record of 223 mph! How does it feel?

"wow....fast" :wink

I'm pretty sure I counted thirty seven "wow"'s in one conversation we had.

wow

Allright guys, I promise no more "Wows".:lol

Ray, as you well know, records and top speeds are at the mercy of timing, luck and weather so I'm sure this one won't stand for long. I'm burned out on the Mile so I won't be back this fall.

But I am looking forward to attending one of the Mile and 1/2 events that seem to be popping up.:thumbsup
