My 2011 Porsche GT2RS has Alcantara covered steering wheel, seat cushions and some other bits like gear lever. Side of seats is leather. So far 17000miles on the clock, and Alcantara still looks like new. No special care to it. I prefer Alcantara because it is more racing like and grippy. Grip is the main advantage. GT2RS does have door sills in CF, some minor scratches. But of course it is much easier to get in and out of that car. In NFGT door sills with Alcantara will show some deterioration with time, even if you sit on the sill to get in and out. The sitting spot will suffer.
But no reason to me not to go with Alacantara:thumbsup
