Have you tried contacting the hotel to see if you can cancel the rooms? I'm sure they could fill them quick.
 
Yes. They refuse to refund any advance payment, and it was all advance paid months ago.

You may want to inform future prospects that the RACE IS SUNDAY. They have to bolt on Saturday night, which pretty much negates the point of the trip, yes?

I know this is a major pita for you , but you could ebay the entire package including tickets. Who knows you might come out ahead. I think this should be the last time you step up for the whole group. I'm sure the crap you have had to put up with is 100 times worse than my problems with just doing 1 room.

Joey if you need more piano wire for the job(s) let me know. There is a quarry near my office for when the job(s) are complete.

There is a high end car group here. I'll see if there is any interest in coming.

hey babaloo... some of us are having dinner on Saturday,... others may be going to the dirt track... We have a little one called Hanford-Kings County, so I plan to be with my GT buddies and not swallowing clods of dirt.
I could run with the swallow line, but I am not in San Juan Capistrano today...:ack

The dinner time will be 6pm Saturday evening at Dunnaway's Restaurant.

The restaurant is located downtown Indy only a short drive from the hotel.
Earlier in with this number of people a) helps the restaurant give us more individual attention, b) better enables our FGT parking all together and c) gets us home a bit earlier to retire for a BIG BIG day on Sunday! The banquet menu selected is the medium priced version ($69 +tax+20%gratuity) and offers a very good choice of fare. By the time the bar bill is included (they have a spectactular wine list for those so inclined) it will most probably be in the $120-$130 range as originally thought.

Getting close guys
Talked to the Marriot today and got confirmation and booked an extra night as I will be getting in on Wed.
Talked to GTJoey today and am pumped up :thumbsup
GT is ready, trailer is ready and my new '08 F-350 arrived yesterday and is ready for the long haul from Calgary.
Looking forward to seeing everybody I have talked to over the last year.:banana

Last minute (not really last minute) substitution

Well, Momma decided she didn't want to go to Indy - so my oldest son Daniel will be accompanying me - you guys remember him from the '06 Rally. All reservations are still confirmed! 20 days to go:banana
 
If anybody has a friend that wants to go I still need to fill these rooms. GTJoey is going to make me be the bad guy and tell these people they can't have their money back.
