Did you ever get to play in this car Dave? It looked like it drove horribly but I was just wondering if it was cool to startup and sit in, maybe a drive up the highway kinda thing?

I wonder what happened the GR-1 concept?

Nope. I've never even seen it. As far as I know it only went around 30 mph and drove horribly, but it wasn't really a real car.

They sold one of the GR-1s. I think the other is still over at a facility where they store a number of show cars. They just kind of sit in there gathering dust. When we went to Vegas and they shipped the polished GR-1 and the Cobra Concept out, I went out for something over there and it's just a nondescript warehouse without much going on.

Didn't the 90 have a 12 cylinder? Two Modular motors milled and welded together at Roush?

Yes it did, they loped off the last two cylinders of the rear engine and the front two of the front one then welded them together. They where modulars off the Lincoln if I remember correctly.

Now that is cool "outside the box" engineering. I think you are right, Lincoln MKVIII motors to start.

When the Mod motors were originally penned, I thought one of the strong points was that it could be a V-6, V-8, V-10 or V-12 with little changed in the production process.

Me and my boi saw the GT90 today at a car show in Dallas. It resides in a museum in Oklahoma. Rare sighting for sure.

Great way to dust off an OLD thread. Glad you did. That is a super cool concept car.
