Ford GT respect from other forums

There is a current thread at the C6 forum on whether a guy should buy a ZR1 or GT. The Vette guys, for the most part, are saying it's a no brainer go with the GT which is pretty remarkable (though they continue to call it a "GT40")

The same has been true by and large on the Viper forums where my friends seem to desire Vipers over most anything ---except a GT.

It is extraordinary that a car can garner such high praise from guys who are so invested in their own brand--particularly for a car that has not been made for 5 years.

And in full disclosure I have owned many a Vette and it still gets my vote for best bang for the buck.

Most Viper owners would jump at a FGT; but from the many posts I have read, are financially constrainted by the economical realities of buying one. You are right from the many choices available at its price range the FGT has an iconic allure that most would favor.
