Ford GT H023 Sells at Barrett-Jackson for $2.5 million

The sale speaks volumes on so many levels and for so many people. It is a testament to the heritage of the car so see it fetching so much money. Awesome to see Chip, Raj and the crew representing. And outstanding that Ron Pratte would donate the car to such a great cause. Truly a win all around. It was exciting to watch it unfold.

Appeared to be bidder 293 I did not recognize the lucky winner

Northwood, earlier in the auction they had Raj on who stated Ford worked with Pratt and all the warranties, concierge, etc would be transferred as if "new."

Correct. After Ron purchased his GT, he decided to donate it to his friend's charity. Ray and Ron are both longtime Barrett-Jackson consignors and customers, they decided the best way to raise the most money for the IGNITE program was to auction the GT in Scottsdale.

We interviewed Raj (with Ray and Ron) live on Velocity/Discovery a few hours prior to the sale, as it was important for everyone to understand this particular offering had the full backing and participation of Ford, and that this was a one-and-done opportunity.

..and all of us on the Ford GT Forum need to help tell the "correct Story".
I was flooded with questions yesterday at a Cars and Coffee here in Michigan by people who wondered why this was not like the John Cena issue.
After a careful explanation of the integrity of the process, they all understood.

Could it have been our very own 07XL0027?

A Saturday night to remember!

It was Greg Miller. I believe this one will get parked next to the blue 05/06. The MY18 car he got through the allocation process should be built shortly. Great guy, great family, good home.

Amazing that you had to explain the difference between the two scenarios to people.

Looked amazing crossing that stage. Appeared impossibly low and wide in comparison to the other exotics.

This is a win, win, win: one for Greg Miller, one for Ford and one for all us!

A fine time.

Gentlemen,

Barrett Jackson was a lot of fun as expected. A great turnout of GT Forum members and having Raj and Chip Ganassi show up was an unexpected bonus for all of us. They were gracious and welcoming as always. Peg and I finished up Saturday night with dinner and cocktails in the skybox courtesy of Chris Callan and we watched the GT auction from there. A surreal occurrence as we were leaving when Raj clapped me on the shoulder as he was walking by with Chip Ganassi, Craig Jackson, and Steve Davis. Raj was going down to Steve & Craig’s GT’s to sign them so we stopped there too. I told Peg I’d like a picture with Chip Ganassi but I wasn’t going to bother them because they were talking to Steve Davis and I didn’t know him. Literally five seconds later, Steve Davis looked up at me pointed right at my face and said “I know you!”. He said, “You’re Chip Beck, the guy with the two bad ass yellow GT‘s who moderates the Ford GT Forum!” He then stepped over the velvet rope and came up and shook my hand. We had never met and he only knew me from the GT Forum which he obviously reads. He then said, “That’s a great website, keep it up!” Nuts! I told him that DBK wanted the serial numbers of his and Craig's NFGT’s and he said come on over and do whatever you like. He told me he would be honored to have their GT’s in the GT Forum’s new registry. Evidently everybody who has anything to do with GT’s is a big fan of David Bannister’s website even if they are not participating members. A fine ending to a great night. All the best.

Chip

Love it, great stuff guys!

So awesome!

Very inspiring story. What a great cause! Congratulations!

For what it's worth #2, we now have the first multi-GT owner. :biggrin

Actually there is another one in Dallas that will have 2.

"We now have the first multi-GT owner." The buyer of H023 already has a submitted order in-process, shortly to be produced, and now owns this car. This is the first legitimate multi-GT owner.

"Will have." There's a lot of people that claim they are going to get a car, they can get you a car, they will have 3 cars, whatever. Until they materialize, good luck.

Chip congrats. You are the man and always in the right place at the right time. Great highlight to what was a great day in Ford history.
