why does it have black valve covers? Something doesn't look right

He also has new heads for sale.

Engine from one of the mules?

"You are bidding on a May of 2003 Ford Gt engine/ transaxle Minus the supercharger, clutch and flwwheel.

This is a early preproduction motor, Is complete, NOT pictured is the Dry sump tank, lines and coolant lines and both coolant expansion tanks, one of those does have a dent. Has injectors, wiring harness, motor mounts, fuel rails, most sensors, exhaust manifolds, altinator, p.s pump, a.c pump, blower belt is there also, Vavle covers are black, altinator states Prototype, along with the coil packs, Block a stamped no of #125.

The coil pack covers are also missing. The only thing needed to make this motor run is a computer and blower. The transmission is also a take out and as of the first of the year the transmissions have gone up too. 15900.00 in price. The motor was built in 05 of 2003 and the no's on all the coil packs and altinator back this up."

HELLO DBK!
Did we not see this before?? Help, I'm away from my computer.

Yeah, we saw this before. The seller of this motor just bought it from the person who listed it on the site, had to be less than a month ago. This was the "I'm not sure where it came from but it definitely came from a wreck and the guy who had it owed me money so I took this motor in trade with no other info on mileage or usage or history" motor. The current seller bought it from that guy.

Caveat emptor.

The black valve covers were used on some of the EARLY CP cars. I've got pictures of them, and Green covers, take when I first went on the program in July of 2003. :thumbsup

so do you think Bill Ford signed off on that motor leaving the factory?

Just talked to FMC. After looking at it, official word is that this is contraband, pure and simple. In the words of our main man at SVT "That's a stolen engine".

I have removed the link, I think we know the seller as someone who is seeking to become a FGT owner. I will let you decide what to do with this thread.

Meanwhile, I'm going back to my favorite internet site. Pass the kleenex.

I have the motor and trans. Really don't want to sell it but i am try to get a GT so i am liquidating parts. I also don't want too create a problem with selling it. I am not the one that got it from where ever it came from. But i do know the guy that got it bought a bunch of motors and it was with them. I just traded a motor and cash for it as i have been collecting GT parts. I have four take out transmissions also. I am keeping one for a fox body mustang saleen replica i am doing and the other two are sold so i mated one up on this motor to gain some interest.

This motor was produced on 05/2003.

Thanks Dan Schoneck

Ford authorities are now aware that you have possession of it. I suggest you contact them and iron out this matter.
Meanwhile, until this issue is sorted out, we sit on this. Please contact us at [email protected]

Just got on the site, Rich , I thought early proto types could not work with the real blower ect. Didnt we have a conversation to this as the proto set up was different and not interchangeable? AKA THE BLACK BLOWER TO OUR COMMON PRODUCTION MODEL. Thanks again thats why this forum is great, knowledge to the real deal ,plus the hot stuff , or the wrcked docked up stuff:thumbsup enjoy gtjoey 1314

Joey my friend.
Glad your still moving and not frozen to the ground. Sell everything and come out here where it's WARM. (er)

If I'm not mistaken, the black and green covered motors went into the crash test cars, and didn't need to be operational. I know the VERY early mules used the 2003 supercharged 4.6 Cobra motor. The very first car I worked on was CP-9, a crash car

Stay warm My friend. :thumbsup

Great point so is it a 4.6 or 5.4? Also if this motor was from a crash car , wouldnt it be shunted from impact?, were they sleeved? LOTS OF INTERESTING QUESTIONS. BRINGING ALL THIS UP TO HELP THE WEARY WHO MIGHT THINK THAT ,THAT MOTOR OTHER THAN A PAPER WEIGHT IS GOOD FOR ANYTHING , THATS ALL. THANKS FOR ALL THE INSIGHT. :thumbsup Yes its cold, due to the depression my local fortune is under the 8 fiquire mark:eek, have to hold out, buy another gt till the housing comes back, then will pak up the gt and go :biggrin gtjoey 1314 GOING WEST MY FRIENDS, ONE DAY, WHEN DBK AND I ARE READY TO RETIRE:banana Keep smiling:thumbsup

Joey, sweetie, baby, boobahlah, the engine is stolen... who cares?

Joey,
What a DEAL I have for you my friend.

Buy a second GT, and park it out here. You know it will be in good hands. That way, you won't need to ship yours out for the Rally. And it would always be full of gas, just waiting for you. I wouldn't even consider a storage charge. My garage stays a perfect 56 degrees.

:thumbsup Who loves ya baby!!

Bony, BABYCAKES , MAN WITH THE MILLION BOUCING BABE'S:biggrin Its all moot your 100% right, im more interested in the early history. TO BE HONEST, MAN THIS MAN HAS HUGE STONES, LISTING HIS NAME , AMOUNTS,EBAY ECT. Like ricky used to say "LUCY YOU HAVE SOME SPAININ TO DO" . :eek. It is interesting though, knowing there were early 4.6 that had nothing to do with the 5.4. just neat trivia. :thumbsup As for you rich, put and old counch in that garage, ill mail you the painting camillo made me, hang it in the garage, once its up im moving in!!!!:biggrin gtjoey 1314 , its snowing again, :eek1314

Bony, I thought you locked up this thread????

Well..... If the engine is bogus, what about the trans???? Were the earlier ones different?

first of all, no one at Ford or anyone on this forum should be calling something stolen when they don't know what they;re talking about. Ford's system of scrapping or dismantling vehicles and engines is not understood by most people at Ford, especially the engineers or program managers. It is very possible (or likely) that the test mule Super Duty pickups were scrapped and the early GT engines went to a core supplier or rebuilder. DST who did much of this work for Ford could care less if it was a Ford GT engine or a 4.6 2valve out of a Crown Vic. They (DST) did the job they were paid to do. Just becuase we hold the GT engine to the highest of powertrains, the core program people could care less so don't accuse someone of having something stolen unless you know ALL the facts first. I hardly think Dan would be advertising stolen parts here or anywhere else.
