Just some speculation, and a "reality-check" for all of us who really desire to own the "NEW" GT next year. Mark asked Bill, "Should we build it?" Bill said "YES". Mark replied, "How about next year?" Bill said......"YES". Does that mean we ALL can get one next year, probably not. I for one am planning to be patient. Indeed I WANT ONE BAD!!! However, if we look at the introductory dates of the former generation GT we own, there was quite a bit of lag between the few that trickled out between 2003, 05, etc. I had to wait until November of 2005 to buy a new GT. I am patient. I will wait, it will be worth it to me!! It will be interesting to see what news follows in the coming months. (Side note, Don't even bother asking your local dealer, he probably knows far less that we do!) Anyone that has any real news on dates, projections, etc. post them here.

Tim:
You may have been patient, but you made up for lost time!:biggrin How many have you owned, 6, 7?

I have owned six total since 2005. (Sold a couple regretfully!)

All I can say is you can have the car in your garage in 2016.

Forum Members know more about the 2016 Ford GT than Dealers. Guaranteed

define "you". production numbers please

I agree it's going to be a while before an actual production car hits the street. Billy Ford said he got Serial # 001 in 2003. Long time between then and '05 production.

What do you think on pricing Dave?

define "you". production numbers please

Impossible definition. Can't.

People will pay for it and have it delivered next year.

What do you think on pricing Dave?

my opinion....

no way anything under $250 with all the carbon and new stuff. The early rumors of $400 seem in line. We shall see.

What do you think on pricing Dave?

High. The performance capability of this car is extreme. Very extreme.

How many will be made?

your opinion...higher than $400?

I would hope not. I think the blowback on Ford for making a car so unattainable would be substantial. There's a big difference between $250k and $400k in the court of public opinion. Ford is supposed to be for the people not just the über wealthy. And I make these statements as a Ford dealer who sold 9 GT's in 95-06.

I missed the webcast, I was wondering what the HP and weight will be?

Its a huge forward step for Ford, Its a next generation GT . Not our Ford GT / GT40.
My only reserve was the details.
Its a v6 ECOBOOST/ 600 HP.
If carbon Fibre, we must be talking $450, 000 plus, this is aimed at a completely different group.
Who is going to build it?
So the 2005/2006 goes into the history books, only time will tell, Wishing Ford all the best.
