Rich Brooks aka The GT Guy LLC and I started work on this one immediately. Should be done next week.

The tires are sticky. Very sticky. The aero tunnel behind the front wheel moves a lot of air, and also a lot of pebbles, rocks and dirt. This was the GT at Autorama this year that had seen a lot of hard driving and track action.

Those are chips. Ouch. Clear bra will stop a lot of that. But for times you just want to tool around and go to a show or something, and will not be wailing on the car at high speed, here you go:

Virtually invisible.

Final iteration will be powder coated black to match the painted cf panel behind it, so unless you're close up you shouldn't see it. Small enough to stop damaging stones without totally eliminating all airflow.

NOT to be used for high speed as it will alter the aerodynamic properties of the car. Uses the existing 2 bolt locations, so pops in and out very quickly if you're heading to the track or plan on exceeding legal speed limits. :wink This will provide a substantial measure of protection for the visible side lower carbon fiber components, as well as the painted door surface just above it.

Nice modification! You're lucky to live close to Rich. What color is that first car?? Looks orange?

Wow....already at it!!! Great mod.

It's liquid red. For whatever reason, the lights at Autorama made pretty much everyone's pics turn it orange.

very cool... certainly looks more 'engineered ' than the prototype ''cardboard/blue tape'' design on the Black 2 car at Pastieners a few weeks back.

Keep the mods coming DBK.

Genius. By the time you attach all the legal disclaimers and warning decals, the opening should be hermetically sealed.

:lol

DBK,

You think the PPF industry will invest time to have templates made for all the trick areas for their installers or just for the typical leading edges?

Cool mod!

Dunno. Both 3M and xPel have seen the car for measurements so we shall see what they come up with reasonably soon.

Will these cover be available fairly soon from the GT Guys?

Yes.

Team CB will take a set. But then it's safe to assume that every owner will want a set.

always fun to have a mod before a car!

You are correct sir! I'm still over a year out -- and I'll take one ASAP (I can just stare at it longingly while imaging the paint it will someday save).

Maybe by 2018 Ford will have them as an accessory.

send when ready Richard.

Can we 3D print a very light one from plastic?

Ed

I don't know Ed. :lol

Is Rich working on a muffler delete?
