Wow, what a weekend. After six weeks of "getting to know her" I finally had time to take the GT on a road trip last week. Straight down the California coast to Santa Barbara we went to an oceanside resort that a friend had recommended to me. Blue skies and mostly wide open roads with absolutely fabulous scenery. Played some triple digit cat and mouse with a friendly guy on a bright yellow sport bike for about forty miles (when traffic permitted of course, safey first :biggrin), and had a stunningly perfect day for the return trip. Got to love California weather!

So in honor of my final piece of bonding that makes this GT truly mine I am giving in to an impulse I have had for awhile and sharing some pics with the Forum.

Here is my girl resting with the other cars by the entrance. Man, a GT makes a Ferrari and Mercedes look very plain! And I figured since everyone else was snapping pics of the GT the whole time we were there I figured I would have the valet take one of us by the GT.

Love my Tungsten GT!!!:cheers

Arghh!!! Don't remind me. I am in Vegas two weeks before and the weekend after the Rally but I could not change my schedule to make it. :bang

It goes without saying but those of us who can't go :frown expect lots of stories and pics from the rest of you!! :cheers

Where did you stay at?

Always good to know GT friendly places to dream about.

Here is the website, www.bacararesort.com . Great food, service and amenties. Its about 15 minutes north of Santa Barbara on 78 acres right on the water. Really enjoyed the time spent there. I would recommend it. :thumbsup

Wow the Bacara? I wouldn't know what to do with that nice of property. I get to enjoy the absolutely awful hotels near Willow Springs International Raceway. If you've never been there you may not get this but if you have, you'll have some pretty good memories of LOW BUDGET hotels.

Your trip sounds like it was a great time. Did you let the boys valet your GT?

I remember staying in a $20 a night roadside motel :eek when I took a cross country motorcycle trip after college. That was memorable....and not in a good way.

Yes, I let them valet the car, but it was not a great leap of faith as they moved it about 25 feet from one side of the fountain to the other. :lol

Thanks! Looks gorgeous. Wow. A kid's club too. Neat.

Yeah, I have stayed near Willow Springs, and there is not a whole lot there. I'm pretty basic when it comes to room requirements, but those are definitely well below accomodating.
