FGT Motor in a Ultima GTR?

Overheard my boss talking about buying a Ultima GTR and thinking about what motor to put in it. Most put a LS7 motor in it and call it good, I suggested to put a FGT motor in it if possible so........ the question of the day is....

Can someone buy a FGT crate motor with harness?

If not then a salvaged GT and do a motor swap?

Any thoughts and comments are welcome.

Even if they managed to put a Rolls Royce Turbine Engine in the GTR, It will still be ugly.

I would think that the 5.4L is a lot bigger and heavier than an LS7, are there any clearance issues?

Why? All the power and reliability of the FGT motor in a 2000 lbs car made for the track, I see no sacrilege here, I see pure trackday fun:biggrin

LS7 is 7.0 L. Not to sure about the weight. I doubt there would be any clearance issues. Ive seen guys put everything from BMW V12's, Audi/Lambo V10's, Twin Turbo V8's and Porsche Flat 6 into these cars so Im sure its possible.

The Ultima GTR720 made the fastest lap around the Top Gear track beating
Michael Schumacher's lap in a $2,500,000.00 Ferrari FXX by over 1/2 a second.

A fully built GTR with whatever motor and trans you put in it will cost less than $200,000.00.

YOU DO THE MATH

I meant bigger in dimensions, not displacement. But is those other engines listed fit the 5.4 should too. One big plus is the Ricardo is much more robust than the G50.

I bet the GT gearbox is much longer though and the G50 only just fits (upside down at that :lol)
