The soft touch surface material of my center council had some small nicks in it so I decided to change it up and add some pop to the interior.
I was inspired by the contrast of the silver console of the 05/06 GT.
I also did the soft touch surface of the Little panel where the window switches are.. I really like the small amount of contrast it adds to the interior .. I did this about a year ago it's held up well, 2020-05-05 12.48.01.jpg2020-05-05 12.57.09.jpg20190909_220001.jpg no issues! Someone asked me to post some pictures so here you go!

Outstanding, as usual. Great job Brian.

Any details or in-process pics as to how you did it?

How did you remove the soft touch coating (I assume you did, for your surface prep prior to paint)?

Nope.. painted over it.. I used a single stage polyurethane which is very flexible . it sealed everything up nicely. It's been on for a year and has seen lots of abuse..

Yea, it's A lot of work. I took advantage of my console being out for some major service to the suspension.. The biggest trick is taping of these switch details. They do not come out of the console easily so I had to mask them off. I painted another one for another car at the same time.20190924_235523.jpg20190924_220038.jpg20190928_122052.jpg

Someone on the forum made some rubber trays for holding coins / phone, that went right below the radio. Very handy. That, the low profile wipers, and taking off the wipers, were the three best mods I did, besides the Bridgestones.
