New pantera?

I still have my silver '72 pre-L and its Tom Tjarda DNA is very much apparent in this freshened design. I hope they build it with a Ford V8 ... but with the quality expected of a supercar now. The build quality and component engineering at deTomaso in the '70's was, shall we say, "challenging" to stay on top of.

I was looking at this again, and I have to say, not since the gt have I been moved emotionally with a car until I saw this one, I hope they make it, this will give me a reason to want another car real bad, you know the feeling you get when your 15 years old and you can only imagine what it would feel like to drive the car of your dreams, well I have that with the gt and I thought thats as good as it gets until i saw this:thumbsup

I remember their son had a Pantera and it when he returned home from a late night out, it felt like an aircraft was landing.

I showed it to one of my sons. He thought it was pretty neat.

I told him the engine could be the same as the GT.

He asked:

1. Will it be as fast as the GT?

2. Is it easier to build than the GT?

3. How many will they make?

4. Are you going to get one daddy? Then I asked him if he would rather have the GT or the Pantera. He answered the GT.

how cool for him, he gets to play with the RC model then step it up to the real thing when he grows up, the question is how old does he have to be before you'll let him take the gt out. man thats gotta be a tough day, good and bad at the same time.:lol
