E-bay Prices! On The Rise!!

"Car was on ebay for 199k, since local I went to the dealer and purchased the car for 175k within 5 minutes."

$175 is still over MSRP. :banana But congrats on getting a good deal for a great car.

It doesn't matter to me 'cause I'm never sellin', but I think we'd all agree these cars are not following the typical Viper/Prowler/DB9/Z06/Gallardo/Contential GT pattern (i.e. two-year-old cars, even with low mileage, that STILL bring over MSRP).

I'm just glad that we have a welcome reprieve from those posts saying that our car would be $85K by now...And how those spectators were waiting to swipe them up.

Well, they weren't driving them then, and they certainly aren't driving them now...

On the other hand, I've enjoyed my first year of ownership immensely...And sure you have all as well.

Over half the cars listed under 175k on autotrader or cars.com have already been sold with the residual listings just lingering forever on the net. Also, on at least three occasions when I called inquiring about a car for sale from a dealer, the cars were in fact not really for sale. I think the dealership owners are keeping the cars and advertising them as "for sale" when they really want to play with them but not "own" them so they don't have to pay taxes on them and buy a tag. The total number of cars for sale is less than would be indicated by an internet search, and the universe of available cars is shrinking. The prices are rising. I know, I just got one.

Wackjob???????

That's Dr. Wackjob. I resemble that remark.:wink

Yep you do dude. :willy

Well stated Barrister Randy!

Thanks Steve. I'm glad you took it the right way. :thumbsup

Looking at it now, my statements in this thread could have been construed as somewhat elitist.

But a few of the spectators in the past were downright ornery in attacking the Ford GT and the valuations (current and future).

So, I am simply saying that it appears most are finally in agreement, that we are one lucky group to be owners. And I do hope that true Ford GT enthusiasts, present and future, find the car of their dreams, and hold on to it.

More than a few! F-Chat quotes from a few years ago:

"The Ford GT should be priced around 120k new."

"I'll buy one when they hit $50k. And they will. "

Q: "So how long until they hit $100k?"
A: "Within 2 years IMO" (6-2-2005)

"I think when the dust settles, they'll trade on the used market for around 105-120k in two years time."

"Still on the "80k in 2 years" train." (6-6-2005)

"i stick by my prediction....low 100k range in 2-3 years top..."

Too bad they aren't at those prices. Everyone here would have two!

I always laughed at some of the snide remarks on that website from guys in their late 40's driving a 1978 308 they bought for 25k. "I'd never buy a Ford for over 50k". Whoa there big ballers. Let's not get too excited here. :lol

See a handful of $150-160K NEW GTs on autotrader with less than 25mi???

And Tim would have EIGHT !

I'm trying to imagine the sheer joy of walking into Tim's garage and having the task of making up my mind! Summbitch:thumbsup

Called on them and none of them are available...

They must be just using it for advertising because they are all either sold or not for sale...

and I would have bought a second yella car for 165!!!
