DINAN TO BUILD 630 HP M3

Steve Dinan just told MLE that Dinan Cars will build an M3 with the company's just-released 628hp 5.7-liter V-10 stroker engine.

The vehicle will be released in roughly a year, well after the 4.6-liter stroker kit for the new M3 comes out. (Dinan says the stroked M3 should be available no later than the new year).

They could make a 1000HP M3 or M5 that craps 24K Golden Tennis Balls out of the exhaust and I would not have the slightest bit of interest. Todays BMWs are over-rated.

Now offer me to drive a Z8, 2002Tii or an M1 and I would say yeah baby!

Love my 08 335 xi. Its balanced, has good power, engine is a work of art (ok, maybe not art but is incredible) ... Red interior with LED's at night gives it an "Art Deco" feel to it.

Basically its a sleeper making 300 hp and 300 ft/lbs of Torque ... torque on call from 1500 to 3500 rpm (sequential turbos)
The car is a bit heavier than I would deem perfect but all modern cars need a diet.

my only complaint is from the factory top speed is limited to 137 mph. 137? where do you come up with THAT number? :biggrin

Love my wifes '97 740 il.... Never took to the new 7 series.... to big and to similar to all the other high end sedans.... but the late 90's model 7 series.... mmmmm .... mmmmm good

Just put new rims on her... tinted it today and soon... new suspension w/ a tad bit of lowering.....

Geez I like my 08 E90 M3...... V-8 redline at 8400rpm? Too quiet from factory, only one exhaust option I know of so far, hoping to have another choice before swapping

Sam, if it weren't for the fact you own a FGT, I'd SWEAR you have no taste in cars at all after THAT stmt! :slap :lol

'Wifey owns wunna those new twin turbo 335i coupes. SHE picked the car out, she test drove the demo (I was just along for the ride in the back seat), SHE made the decision to buy. I just wrote the check.

The 1st time I actually drove one myself was when her car arrived - and I was IMPRESSED. "Over-rated" my eye! The M3 has to be 'more gooder' than a std 335i ... and that would therefore have to be something else!:tongue

Where I live, there are more BMWs than Hondas, Toyotas and flies on left over Bbq'd food combined. For nearly 20 years I've been hearing the same crap from all the local owners about Fit & Finish this, Awesome driving machine that and how it is a status symbol etc.:ack Then you go ask them to define fit & finish or what the logo on the car means and they start talking trash about crappy American cars and what a piece of junk and so on and so forth. It may be a nice car for some but I believe todays BMW has lost its purpose and is seriously over rated - just my opinion. As I said before, I am not against BMWs as I like the Z8, 2002Tii and the M1, otherwise it is no different than the VW bug of the past. Sorry guys.

:chill:, Sam! I hereby give ya permisshun to hold your OWN opinion on THIS or any other subject any darn time ya want! :lol

Personally, there's only one BMW I'm r-e-a-l-l-y wiped out over. And that's based soley on it's looks alone. That's the Alipina(sp?) (2 seat rdster/'vert).

DANG!!! That's a nice lookin' rig! There's a grey (silver?) one down at the foot of the hill below me. It's always sittin' out in the driveway every mornin' when a friend of mine and I hike past there on our daily 3 mile jaunt. Wunna these days I might just have to knock on the door...

Okay I'll agree with you on that one. BTW, if I was to get out of retirement and had to drive to the office on a daily basis, it would be in a..........

1972 3.0 CSI - WITHOUT SMG OF COURSE:ack:ack:ack

First serious car I bought was a black 850 CSI. It was heavy and needed more hp, but man I just loved the way she looked. Not a GT, but in her day in the mid nineties she was eye candy.....to me at any rate.

No other BMW ever moved me though and I can't see myself owning another one. Although I liked watching the 7-series in the intro car chase to the Transporter. Thought the keypad ignition was cool. :thumbsup
