That's is because this FGT only goes 180 MPH. :lol

DESCRIPTION

Ford delighted generations of fans with its reinterpretation of the legendary Le Mans-winning GT40. The Ford GT features many new and unique technologies, including super-plastic-formed aluminum body panels, roll-bonded floor panels, a capless fuel filler system, one-piece door panels an aluminum engine cover with a one-piece carbon-fiber inner panel and an all-new supercharged 5.4/550 HP V-8 that gives the GT a top speed of 180 MPH. This 2005 GT from the Harold R. Wing collection harks back to the original with its Blue-and-White competition livery.

Something is not right..

Auctions are not right.

Auctions are not right.

+1

auction price

No mention of miles or history. Must be something not right or the buyer got a great deal.

Maybe it's been smashed/rebuilt. 125k is too cheap for a non-smashed car, unless it has a ton of miles...

...then I guess Jeffey's GT must only be worth about $39.95 these days, huh. :lol

(I'm jus' rotten to the core...)

A friend of mine said it had 1,300 miles on it.If it did sell for that price .Congrats to who ever landed that deal!
I only wish it was me!

That's Hal Wing's car. Interesting that he chose to sell it. I know he was selling something like 33 of his cars this week. He's an older guy, but I can tell you first hand he drives his cars hard.

Oh, and not that it was wrecked, but I was at MMP and he drove the car over a parking pole thinking it was one of those flop down pylons but it was unfortunately a pole into the ground and it hurt the front end. Still nowhere near anything enough to justify that price. A 1200 mile blue car is easily worth $30k more than that without even trying (not accounting for auction fees).

Is that the same Hal Wing inventor of Ladder Systems?

BTW, observations of recent auctions is that 50s and 60s Porsches are bringing some big $$

Yeah, Mr Little Giant.

That was a deal

Especially if Steve McQueen owned it.

you got that right--a real bad apple

I didn't see mention of the buyer's premium....but let's say 8-10%...about $12,500....$2K to get it shipped home......about $140K and that is realistic. Still a good buy if no paintwork.

I was at the auction and spoke to the new owner, he stated that he knew the previous owner and that the vehicle had been wrecked on the right side and repaired. The front end was heavily pitted with rock chips. The mileage was 13,000, not 1300, so the price paid was about right considering the condition.

Assuming it had good repairs done and those rock chips buff out, then its still a good deal.

No, that'd be its owner! The car isn't half bad at all!
