One of the architects of Ford's revived GT programme will leave his role in charge of the American manufacturer's Performance division at the end of this year.

Ford Performance director Dave Pericak will vacate his position from December 1, after a stint at Ford Performance that included the integration of Ford's Racing, Team RS and Special Vehicle Team divisions three years ago.

Returns to mainstream Ford to take over as Engineering Director for Unibody vehicles. Racing duties at FP will be handled by Mark Rushbrook. Herman the German Salenbauch back to handle production duties.

First Raj, now Dave. I hope real racing can keep going without the competitive spirit these two guys brought to Ford Performance.

Congrats to the new role. His biggest achievement winning Le Mans in 2016 is something that only happens once in a lifetime and is a sure thing to remember and celebrate at all Ford events to come.

Good luck and all the best with the new role.

Wow, Glad he is staying with Ford. Congratulations to Dave in his new position. Thanks for all you do!

Great guy, very thankful for everything he's done for us.

Dave. Thanks for your passion and commitment to an amazing car. Cheers to you in this next chapter

Hate to see all these passionate people leave the program. Hopefully the program continues on the same path.

"He will oversee the interior, exterior and engineering of Ford’s cars on a global scale."

What a great move for him! Having won at LeMans with a brand new car on the 50th anniversary of the original win, he's done something that will never be topped. We'll miss him but glad he can tackle new and exciting professional challenges.

And who knows? Maybe his oversight will result in even BETTER cars for the street! I can't imagine a more passionate enthusiast to be in charge of interiors, exteriors, and engineering.

Thank you Dave for all your hard work, passion, blood, sweat and commitment to the FRP. No way the 2016 LM win would have happened without you. Good luck on your new position in Ford and thank you for always taking time out for my wife and I as well as all the GT Owners. Class act!

Ford has had some great guys pass through the Performance division and Dave carried the banner high, he will be missed. Big shoes to fill. If he has input for his replacement it will be filled by someone with his passion for Ford and performance.

This is how it works ..., and should work,.. at Ford. Like Raj and Henry and others, Dave will move up and on. He will now have an impact on $billions$$ of Ford Products...not just Performance Products . This keeps the company vibrant and Alive.
Congrats to all involved. !! Keep that product flowing.

Andy, do these guys have complimentary wives like you do?

Really sad to hear, he did a lot for Ford Motorsports.

Not good news for tall Ford customers.
The Focus RS has no head room, the GT is tight, and even base Mustangs have far more (unnecessary) adjustment to go higher than lower for taller people.

Congrats Dave !! We're going to miss you a the Track !!

I dont think Raj or Dave will be to far away from the racing scene. Once it's in your blood, its hard to break away.
These moves will only mean better things for Ford as a whole and updated, better performing main line Ford vehicles in the future.
Can't wait.:thumbsup

Congratulations to both, and see you gentlemen at LeMans!
