Darth Vader, Your car is Here

Wow, those carbon fiber door panels are out of this world. Amazing.

Somelee -

I like the look with the tinted headlights also. Might as well enjoy it for a bit before removing - assuming you are not doing any night driving during that time.

Love those HRE's you have!

That is one beautiful black GT! Have you ever considered tinting the windows?

What type of exhaust are you running? I noticed the baffels.

Beautiful car.:thumbsup

is Don's car lowered? looks like it might be a little....if so anyone know how much?

I have black wheel envy.

still have the iforged ......had a little problem with them though...so I decided to get a set of HRE's. Still not sure I've found the look I'm after.......sometimes it feels like an endless quest.........thanks for filling me with more doubt! :wink

you nailed it. thats why I cant bring myself to commit to a set of wheels. knowing myself, I will be tired of them in two months and 5000 dollars for two months seems excessive, also the other thing I noticed from the pictures is that on the Iforged the back wheels seem to stick out a bit, maybe just in the pics though I have never seen a car with them on. whats your feeling, do they stick out a bit or are they flush with the quarters, also I dont care for the look where the tires seem to be stretched over the wheel, seems the wheel is to wide for the tire, just my opinion, im very picky when it comes to wheels so I know what ever I get I wont like,:biggrin so for now Im staying with the stockers. If I do get a set it will probobly be the Iforged seneka series or the HRE 590R's

buying wheels makes me nervous!:willy

Good eye. Don's black car is lowered ~1" all the way around.

This car has the Borla muffler with their signature GT tips.

looks great.....I originally lowered mine 3/4" up front and 5/8" out back...but now that she's not on the east coast anymore and I've got these nice CA roads....I may try to go 1" all around. I'll just have to remember when I pull in and out of places. :eek

I know the feeling......you just don't know what they're gonna look like on the car till its too late. The iforged did stick out a hair more in the back than the HRE's and the stocks....which I kind of liked....made the car more sinister especially from behind.

Couldn't coerce Stormcat into a CF hood?

Hey Don, that setup looks nice. It must be tough choosing between this and the TT?

Just have to have the right tool for the job!

*cough* Buy black *cough*

When is twin turbo ever the wrong tool for the job?!? :biggrin

WOW! Looks incredible!

Adopt me...

All,

I recently had the pleasure to do some modifications and routine maintenance to Don's (aka DGCA) GT's. Some of you may have seen the blurb in July's Road & Track with Don's Blue/White stripe car achieving 235.4 from a standing start on a 2 mile runway in Central California. What an unbelievable accomplishment! As part of the quid pro quo for using the runway, many additional runs into triple digits were made with Navy personnel wanting to simulate the next best thing to carrier launches!

Well, when Don isn't having fun with the Hennesey TT, he always has his ultra-low-mile Darth Vader mobile to run to the grocery store with! With Don's permission, I thought I would share some pictures of the later car.

This next pic is a close-up of the newly installed RBD kit with the Borla exhaust and tips. This car is DEFINITELY a lot quieter than the TT car!

DG3.JPG

This next pic is what ~3,000HP looks like. Figure ~650HP each for the pullied' Vader mobile and my Tungsten. ~1,000HP for the covered TT. 400HP for the Denali, and ~350HP for the AWD Subi. Screw gas prices!!

Finally, here's a couple of pics of Kip's latest works of art!! complete CF door panels. Again, the pictures hardly do the panels justice. All of the edges of Kip's panels are rolled and the quality is second to none just as we have come to expect from anything Kip touches!

that is one sic looking car :cool i like the carbon fiber too :thumbsup i see that you mention a Ford GT that went 235 mph. i never did see that July 2008 edition of Road & Track. anyway, the car that did this was it a twin turbo car or a whipple car or both? and how much did it dyno?

Hennesey TT, no SC. As with any TT, HP output can be varied with wastegate control and the right fuel octane. Expect power at ~1,000HP. I'm sure John would be happy to provide all of the details you would want.

The article was in Road & Tracks July 2008 issue. The car today has the Hennessey TT Suupercharger set-up to run on California 91 octane.
