Ford had a 3 day press event at Laguna Seca and, I guess you might say, the 'fun quotient' was high. Rave product reviews, the only consistent 'complaint' was 'a lack of brakes'. Apparently folks carrying a little too much speed into the corners....

Sounds like a great Mustang! Kudos to the Boss Team!

Seems the advertised 444bhp is a little on the conservative side:

416rwhp/.85=489bhp
or
416rwhp/.90=462bhp

Hopefully there will be a 2013 production Laguna Seca Boss 302 in grabber blue/black. I could learn to like the new body style in that color combo. I love the mechanical bits in the Boss 302.

Not to jump the gun, but I can hardly wait until somebody decides to twin turbo the Boss.

Does anyone know what octane was in the car for the dyno pull?

Does anyone know what octane was in the car for the dyno pull?

As you are likely aware, higher octane does not equal more power. In a normally aspirated car like the new 302, higher octane could potentially let the car run more timing before pinging - but in the past Ford has not employed knock sensors, so there is no mechanism for the engine to "adapt" to the higher octane - therefore no difference in results.

IndyGT will know. The display at the Chicago Auto Show was run by a friend of his.

I was curious as it seems to have dyno while at the press service at Laguna Seca. Did this LS edition have the production tune in it and was it running 91 or 93 oct, or even a dash of race gas 100 oct. Im assuming it was production tuned in Detroit to run 93.

And I can get one on "A/Z" plan where? :lol :rofl :lol

You are absolutely correct.

If you want a LS, only one option - Black or silver exterior color
If you want a regular Boss, two options - Recaro seats/torsen differential and color (7 to choose from).

I am omitting the one "option" available to both, 97B, car cover including floor mats.
Oh, and maybe the "Track Key" if you figure that as an "option".

No navigation system or glass roof on this one guys......

Here is Motor Trends video from Laguna, note the last slide, faster than an R8?
