Chassis 1015, piloted by Ken Miles and Lloyd Ruby, raced and won the FIRST 24 hours of Daytona in 1966 (and if I'm not mistaken, is the first GT40 to win a 24 hour endurance race). Painted in white/red with the black hood and wore number 98. Same car went on to the second place finish at Lemans later the same year in different paint scheme.

Love the old time pics. Great memories you must have.

Super cool pics!!!

I love all those old pics. And is that YOUR car over in Europe? Well, I assume that it is in Europe...

Unfortunately, No (wish it was). It is from Adrian Streather's book, "FORD GT - Then & Now." The photo was taken by Richard Truesdell; the car was owned by Matt Malone; the location is the famous Hotel De France in Le Mans ( http://www.tripadvisor.com/Location...rtre_sur_le_Loir_Sarthe_Pays_de_la_Loire.html )

Great pictures Ralphie, Thanks for posting.

Great paint scheme guys! I was hoping someone would do it eventually.

Is the black a vinyl wrap or paint?

Ed

Someone buy it quickly before Camillo runs it through a car wash. Black top vents on the clamshell would look good too.

It's paint, as is the chrome. Car looks super bad ass in person. Looks like a race car going down the road. I wasn't sure how it would look before it was done, but when we were driving back to Detroit and I was looking in the mirror from the GT500, this color just looks flat out bad coming past you.
