Black is Beautiful

I finally got to see the "Black Beauty" come off the transport truck Saturday at dusk. And I don't know if there is going to be a trend - but about the time it was rolling off, the rain started to come down in Phoenix! And we haven't had any rain in at least a week.

Anyway, this is the next morning, out front of my place and "unpolished" (guess I'll have to get used to more of that with a Black GT).

I've been watching and inquiring for many months now and BJ Motors put this one up at the right price and I snagged it quickly. Sorry to hear that a fellow forum member gave her up - but I assure you, she is in good hands.

I'm only going to post one pic - because she will look much different by the time the Rally gets here. I'm following another trend I like on these - with blacking out many items and some custom rims.

It's been interesting looking over this, very early '05 GT (#102) in the past few days and comparing it to my '06 Tungsten. Immediate catches by "Team Jeff" and I were: Billeted A-Arms; the "raw" look to the seams in the wheel wells of the clamshell; and I've also noticed some items just aren't as quite as "detailed" as they are on the Tungsten in the interior - like paint quality on the tunnel/gauge markings, etc. It's not that I don't love it. I think it's "unique" and interesting. Just great to compare.

I want to say thanks to this great community I joined about 1.5 years ago and DBK, Chip, the "late" BONY and all the supporters. It's been great and I look forward to many, many more years of fun, friendship and driving!

Stunning... Enjoy her...

AZSTAD,

you never heard the best of '05's were un-thetered (and blk or blk/ slvr) meaning they were 30-50 RWHP better than the copies in '06...... Raw and first off the line has its benefits!

BTW - now you know why Frank thinks he had the fastest FGT being Red! :rofl

It rain because a dark horse cometh to town. Enjoy your wicked ride..

Happy Feet :thumbsup

Congratulations! :cheers It's stunning!!! :thumbsup One of the best colors out there! Are you planning on tinting the windows?

I love the color and if I were to get a second GT, it'd be in black.

Congrats and keep us updated on the upgrades.

Don't feel bad because we have had rain the past 10 days
and are having record amounts with flooding like I have never seen.

I'm leaving for a trip and won't return till Sunday... what torture!

Black Is Awesome :)

I have to pay props to the Montana Black GT owner at Rally III. That was my deciding point that I really needed one.

Having said that, it's been really hard to "make it my own/unique" given there are more of them popping up.

Here's a list of current mods (at time of purchase):
1. Ford Racing Tune & Pulley
2. Custom X Pipe (I'm almost positive it's "ART" who did mods?)
3. Custom Transaxle Cooler
4. Modified drivers seat (love this! visibility is much, much better)
5. Passport 9500i

Here's a list of what will hopefully be ready for Rally IV:
1. Complete front end wrap in 3M clear bra
2. Tinted windows
3. Tinted side markers, tail light and 3rd brake light
4. Custom rims - 19/20's (Sorry Camillo, they're going to have some chrome on them)
5. Black powder coated cam/valve covers & billeted cap covers
6. Halon System in Engine Bay
7. Carbon Fiber Door Sills
8. Bluetooth/iPhone connectivity to McIntosh for both phone and iPod Tunes
9. Kip's CF compartment to hold iPhone, etc.

I think I better stop there!

Very nice, indeed...the best color and stripe-delete. IMO will hold it's value better than most...if you give a damn about that sort of thing! Keep this one safe and sound and save the original bits that you remove for "wall hangings".

I hope the rain ends soon i want to go see the Robertson Racing GT-R run @ Road Atlanta this week. I haven't driven the GT in 5 days . It's more than a rainy night in Ga. I have lived here 30 years and never seen so much RAIN.

Black is bad as it gets

All GTs are beautiful, but in black they stand out from the rest, dramatically IMO with the stripe delete. Congratulations. Please post pictures of your upgrades. :cheers
