Well game 3 in 15 minutes or so.... See what happens....

GO ASTROS!!!!!

oh crap, what dream was I in???

Thugboat

Well that was a was the result we had hoped for.......

On to game 4....

Ouch! We need hitting (quick) to support the pitching.

Tough time for the bats to go ice cold.

Also tough to win with no runs.

...the threat of a major run drought is ongoing.

Wah wah waaaah.

That $23,000,000 for Prince Fielder this season would look pretty good split up a couple ways right now.

Talk about baseball swinging from one end of the spectrum to the other. A decade ago I think anyone could have hit 20 homers, now you're lucky to get a 3-2 game.

He's had a poor season from a value perspective.

But when you pay a guy $23M, you expect him to 'hit the reset counter to zero', when he enters the post season. Thus far, he's offered up a rather uninspired performance through the playoffs. Boston meanwhile has put up some great pitching, making him look even more inept. Question is what do you do with him for the next games, lower in the order?

I love it, a bunch of baseball fans with GT's. Two of my favorite things. I even watched a few Astro games this year. That was painfull.

Dave, Maybe a baseball game, East vs West at the next rally. hahahaha

The Yanks have been down this road many many times with A-Fraud.

They learned painfully and expensively that there was no good batting spot for him in October.

No matter how poorly Fielder hits, he'll likely never be as bad as A-Fraud.

That being said, Leyland will change up something, he's a great manager. He can't hit for the players though.

So how about Cabrera, ahhh so what about that guy standing there just after 3rd base with both his hands up......

And yes, I would rather have Iglesias back over Drew..... Great effort on that bloop that Ortiz hit, not to mention the DP, with the payback phantom touch of 2nd base....

Sadly Scherzer and Verlander still stand in the way of closing things out....

Well said Spec, that kid Iglesias is pretty slick with the glove.

Cabrera really looks like he's hurting, but always is capable of doing damage, even at 1/2 capacity.

Prince looks absolutely lost, he's been downgraded to "Pauper" Fielder.

Scherzer (then if game 7, Verlander!)!!! They still need to score at least one.

I think the Tigers may have lost by giving away 2nd game, let alone losing Verlander's gem.

Go Red Sox!

Go Red Sox!

Where my man, where?

It's somewhat hard to feel bad for a guy that's made $46 million in the last 24 months, but you can tell Prince is definitely cracking under the pressure of that deal. Oh well, only $168 million to go!

Go Tigers!! Kaline.jpgSockit.jpgTigers.jpg

Old Tiger Stadium! Corktown!! Cherry St.!!

And not just Kaline but Horton, Freehan, McAuliffe, et. al.

Clearly though, Kaline was THE star. Detroit Tiger for life!

How about Mickey Lolich, KJD? In 1971, he had the first of four 300 inning seasons, going 25-14, 2.92 ERA, started 45 (!!) games, and pitched THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY SIX innings!

'The shortstop that stopped 'em short' was my neighbor. You should have seen his front yard that night!!
