Axle bolt answers, finally

TACHY

I did the same thing yesterday, mine is #852 06 tungsten and no call back.

I also called back with my tranny number, and did not yet hear back. Since the car with a VIN one digit less than mine had the bolts break, I'm betting my bolts are also suspect.

BTW, the trannies also have the car's VIN stamped on them. I'm thinking this "I need your tranny number" procedure is a stalling tactic of some sort, since obviously, they should ALREADY know our tranny numbers.

Tacky and Quick Time,

I'm right inbetween you guys at #1160, so looking ok from what you know at this time.

Please let me know if anything different shows up.

Thanks,

Mine's 2577 so I guess I'm OK? Feel like a frikken hypochondriac!

2577 ? ? ? ?

Most of us are talking about VIN numbers. My car is a 2006, #813 (last 4 digits of VIN 0813).

The 2006 with VIN 812 already had the bolt failure.

My tranny number was FGT 2511.

Well I look at it like this, mine is 06 # 852. Even if Ford Hot Line, if they ever call back, tells me I am okay (doubt that will be the case), I have ordered the kit and will pay for it myself and will take the car to Saleen in Irving, California and have it done my them

Would you trust the comments from a secretary on the Ford Hotline with your well being and safety? Not I, no matter what is said, are you 100% confident that you are clear and free of risk ? ........ NOT! :bs

Mine is "06" #463 !!!

Well, I am sitting here fairly pissed off, Sunday afternoon, car has been in the garage the entire weekend, no call back from my dealer, no call back from the Ford Hotline. I have no idea what is going on with my transmission and I won't drive it until I hear of a resonable solution.

Can you imagine a Ferrari Dealership or Ferrari treating a customer like this? Maybe this is the difference between Ferrari and Ford? I suspect that if a similar problem happened on a new Ferrari, at least someone from Ferrari would make contact with you and provide some answers, even if it was a secretary. So far, I have provided myself with all the answers and the answers are not acceptable. No one has called me back from Ford, I have called my dealer, my dealer has not called me back, the Tech Serivce Manager is "on vacation". I have called the Ford GT Hotline, and have heard nothing back from them. I am not sure why there is a Ford GT Hotline? It is the most worthless phone call you can make short of calling your computer tech support and talking to someone in Jaipur! It should be called the "Ford GT Coldline". :bs Is there something wrong with this business model? Maybe this is why Ford is in the tank on sales right now?

I guess Quality is not Job #1 anymore, and I know Service is not Job #1. That is pretty evident. I suspect the solution for So Cal GT owners is to buy the kit and get to Saleen ASAP. :thumbsdow

DBK, any insider update on this issue?
