Anyone have this happen to this steering wheel center cap?

I have 1 05 car and 4 06 cars. All the 06 cars have the cast/plastic look. The 05 is the only one that has the BRUSHED METAL LOOK. Looks like we have found another difference !

Wow interesting, there was only one part number used for the Cluster Bezel 4G7Z 10876-AA

Its not as though 05 and 06 had any listed differences. Neat find !

I noticed it being brushed metal a long time ago. Cant believe I never notice the 06 cars being a CAST type finish. I usually notice EVERYTHING.....

:lol :banana

Its incredible that this has gone so long and no one has noticed or at least brought it to the forums attention! Myself included. How many threads were started asking the difference between 05-06? Wow.

Hmmm, I wonder what else has escaped the scrutiny of the GT Forum members.....:secret:

Too funny. But d*mn you all for not telling me about this difference before I got my 06. Oh wait, I wanted the heritage. No choices for me. :biggrin

Ahhh, but there is, I think I might see a Kip Ewing CF gauge panel in my future!! :thumbsup

Only one thing I can say - Billet A Arms :banana

Yes, that is undoubtedly the BEST bit of bling out there. :thumbsup Wish they were on mine. :frown

The billet "A arms" are very sweet. I have them on mine. :thumbsup

As far as the steering wheel center cap, my '05 recently started doing the same thing.

One of our enterprising vendors should develop a carbon fiber or other type of cap that would easily adhere over the bad one.

Don't make me break out the chrome spray paint!

The center cap issue is a common problem and if your car is out of warranty you are pretty much SOL. They ONLY sell this part as the complete airbag assembly (STUPID)

My car is an early 06 and has the brushed alluminium dash! I like it !!!

Yes, mine's an '06 and had the brushed aluminium as well but now has this.

It also has the '05 clam shell rubber bumper stops.

hmmmmm. So it's not a 05 thing. Guess they used them until they ran out.

wheel center

thanks

sent JWL a pm as he has a fix that can be done at home per Ford instructions.

What is the fix that can be done at home ??

not sure yet. waiting on return pm.

I finally had the dealer replace the airbag on my 2005 white car due to the ugly spots on the center horn button. You would think that there would be a cheaper fix!

Haha, I was thinking the same thing about yours. :biggrin Must be a FGT owner thing. I'm going to hit mine in the spring so that I know how many miles per year (I just got it this year). :cheers

I haven't zero'd my trip since new either. :lol It seems to make me feel the car is still new somehow!

My buddies was like that. He got warranty coverage.

Superfly I am having the same issue, do you know who the dealer was that warranted it?

Thanks.
