Still waiting for my car to arrive on these wet and windy shores so I'm just sitting here wondering if I'm gonna be able to fit the bumper delete kit myself.

It's being shipped in the car so that it all arrives together with the Heffner exhaust?

Any of you guys done the job....am I likely to struggle?

I changed your status to owner.
I am sure the folks here can talk you through it.

bumper delete done right !

Contact Rich Brooks, aka The Gt Guy... He'll do it right for you, and they travel alot, so you will find them closeby down the road. My reco is to use the bumper initially, To get a feel what the rear view means when parking...get used to it first, only then take off the bumper ! :biggrin

I am sure for the right incentives they can be convinced to take some R&R in the UK. :wink

But Roush may be a better choice.

Thanks BONY, I'll be in touch so long as I like the car:thumbsup

Thanks for the feedback. I don't like the hassle of taking my car anywhere so I fancy doing it myself. I'll take a look at the box of bits when it all arrives then maybe get some instruction from the afore mentioned.

CAn't think it's that complicated.:cheers

Dont forget that the rear filler panel has to be painted.

If the GT GUYS kit is used, no painting is needed...

I just did the bumper delete on my car. I went with the GT Guy kit and kept the original bumper supports so that I can undo it all if need be. Their kit does not require any painted inserts which is one of the reasons that I went with that kit. I didn't find it necessary to remove the engine cover, but I did need to loosen the exhaust flanges where the catalytic converters attach to the manifolds (and disconnect the cats from the muffler). Take your time and you won't have any trouble.

How long did it take you to do the install... I also went with THE GT GUYS' kit, but Dennis and Rich did the install?

He purchased the CDC kit, so he will have to paint the panel. Dont be jellous of our shinny asses bony. The underware on your kit has holes all in it. Mine (the CDC) is like a pair of gucci undies! :biggrin

My concern about that kit is how the paint will look after being exposed to the heat after several years. That is why I went with the GT GUYS kit.

Well, if SEVERAL years down the road it changes, just paint it again. :thumbsup

Interesting pronoun, 3rd person singular feminine for designation of FGT??? Brings to mind, "My Gal, My Girl, Temptations circa 1968". I sort of think of it a a finely tuned piece of mechanical art, for me, neutral, I guess.

Talking 'bout my girl, whoa whow whow..........:thumbsup

Interesting thought. You might be right.

I took my sweet time and had to battle a torx bolt holding the diffuser undertray that required cutting to get out. So, for me it was 3 days of lazy effort with plenty of distractions. If you worked at it, it could be done in a day. Also a great time to do any exhaust work. Special thanks to Rich Brooks for me helping me through my moments of self-doubt!

I thought I'd told Charles I wanted the GT Guys kit.

Never mind....apart from the painting does anyone know whether the install is a similar affair. I need to change the exhaust while I'm there too.

Well, but certainly Boxers ! Aesthetically, it looks like the car is higher, the mesh of the GT guy kit makes the car look wider, and meaner ! Very much like the Challenge grill on the Fezzers...

And technically speaking, the GT guy kit is superior as the engine bay is better vented ! Thought we hear a lot of heating issues, opening the clamshell after driving, overheating in slow traffic unless the trans cooler is installed, and so on.

Hence The GT guy kit for me ! Luckily here in GOEurope (with US plates), I can floor it ALOT ! :biggrin
