Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance

I'll be there Friday thru Sunday, hope to see you and your cars!

Gordo - PM me and I can send you my cell/direct email.

Anybody going to the Ferrari - Cobra lecture Friday at 4pm ? Special tickets are needed.

My wife is having an exhibition of her paintings at the entrants' luncheon from around 11am -1pm, so I 'll probably be helping her then. For those interested, some of her work can be seen at www.nadineterk.com[/QUOTE]

Great work on your wife's site. Loved "Doris Dolled Up"...

Jaxgt. How about organizing a meet time for all GT owners during the show. Many of us will be there......would be a great chance to meet other forum members. Since you are showing some cars....name a car and a time for us to meet.
Stu, there is so much going on......will be at all the lectures too....the endurence race meeting will be great....all the old Lemans racers from the 50's 60's70's will be there.....after about 10 minutes you put the camera down and just enjoy everyone, its just to overwhelming...............Redman and Moss are both on the ticket for that meeting.....gtjoey1314

YES - the director/founder of the concours, Bill Warner, is a fellow GT owner. A great guy too.
He is the one who got me interested in my first GT.

GT Joey quote: "all the old Lemans racers from the 50's 60's70's will be there..."

...So will the most recent "24 Hours of LeMons" participants (me!) raced at CMP last weekend! What a hoot! Raced a 1973 Fiat 124 Spyder! For 16 hours! Yes, we had issues...but nothing that sidelined us. Even replaced a diff!!! And the front brakes - after they caught fire! Check out...http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/

Sweet, are you coming with the GT , we are going to do a picture in front of the hotel......see you tomorrow...gtjoey

Having a great tme in Amelia!

There is a thread on the Club Cobra forum stating that Shelby is in ICU. Any news of this during any of the Amelia seminars?

Super nice 250 GTO owned by a friend of mine won best in show. Wish I could have been there! Next year.

What a great event. Sooo much going on for four days, impossible to keep up. Saw GT Joey and Nardo, but could not find Mitchell's Caddies for the life of me. A mega event. Here's a link of some of my photo's...shot with a Leica D Luxe-4, pocket camera.

The show was a lot of fun! The Ferrari 250 GTO has been my favorite car for many years, so I was excited to see such a large percentage of them in one place. (I even splurged on one of the books on the history of the 250 GTO before leaving.) A lot of my time at the show was spent around those cars, as well as some of the cars created back when Empty Pockets got his license. :biggrin There was a great selection of cars, and I particularly enjoyed looking at the older cars - 50's and 60's racing cars, and some of the really old Bugattis, Dusenburgs, Fords, etc. The 2 Chaparrels that DonnyMac talked about were there (both with #66), and were receiving tons of attention, which was nice to see. There were even 2 GT40s there. I had to take a picture next to the GT40, which looks funny because it is shorter than my legs!! :lol The Saturday evening before the show proved a great opportunity to view some of the cars before the crowds arrived, and to talk with owners about the history of their classics and to hear some great stories about the cars! For those interested, here is a link to the pictures I took: http://www.flickr.com/photos/76056178@N03/sets/72157629208942884/

Jim Hall always ran the 66 cars (sometimes 166, 266, etc) and Hap Sharp and Phil Hill had the sister cars with #65.

MJ - sorry we missed you! We must have been close looking at your pix!
