Anybody planning on attending the Amelia Island Concours this year ? It's the second weekend of March. Always a great event.

There will be a bunch of Ferrari GTOs there, as well as a lecture Friday on the Ferrari - Ford wars. Should be fun.

I'll have my 2 vintage Cadillacs on display in Cadillac's tent this year. They are big sponsors of the Concours and like to display the heritage of their brand. They typically have some vintage machines, current cars and a concept or two.

For those who have cars entered in the show, my wife (a fabulous artist) will have some of her paintings of endangered species from White Oak Conservation Center on display during the entrant's luncheon Sunday afternoon at the Ritz Carlton. To see some of her work, check out: www.nadineterk.com

I live in the area, about 45 min away, so can help with recommendations if needed. Just PM me.

:skep I demand to see photos - PRIOR TO USE, of course! :lol

I'll be there on Sunday, only. I'll look for you, JAX (and you, too, Joey).

I'll be there, taking photos (of the cars, not Joey's accomodations). Two of my favorite Cobra prototypes, the Bordinat Cobra and Cougar II are scheduled to appear.
I uncovered them in a Detroit warehouse in 2003, and cleaned them up and detailed them for display at SAAC 29 in Detroit in 2004.

Jeff,

Are the prototypes steel or aluminum? I'm going to try to attend Amelia this year. It is close and yet I've never been there.

Amelia Island

I'll be there Friday thru Sunday, hope to see you and your cars!

Will be there.

Sorry won't get to see you this year !

Paul -
These two Cobra prototypes do not have metal bodies. The body of the Cougar II is fiberglass; the Bordinat Cobra's body is made of an ABS plastic material called Royalex. Cougar II was delivered to Ford as a complete Cobra - DST Industries stripped the alloy body off, and Ford Design Ceneter guys created a new body for it. The Bordinat Cobra was delivered to Ford as a stripped chassis with no body on it. Both cars were thought to have been crushed years ago, but, fortunately, they were spared. The engines have been stripped, and some of the badges have been pilfered over the years, but the bodies are basically in good shape.

Post photos Jaxgt! I wish I could be there.

Have fun,
Ed

This will be my first time at this show and I'm looking forward to it. Dragging along some friends from Atlanta. :) Donny, you're really going to have a couple of the Chapparal's there?

Yes maam. Come on by. Jim will be there also. Good to hear from you!

Mitch - change in Chaparral display schedule derails me. Will drop you email.

Jaxgt. How about organizing a meet time for all GT owners during the show. Many of us will be there......would be a great chance to meet other forum members. Since you are showing some cars....name a car and a time for us to meet.

Actually have 2 vintage cars in Cadillac's big display. It is usually located in a pretty big "booth" on the show field. Not technically in the show, though both cars are former show winners.

It would be fun to see some of my GT buds. Probably late afternoon best as mid-day crazy. My wife is having an exhibition of her paintings at the entrants' luncheon from around 11am -1pm, so I 'll probably be helping her then. For those interested, some of her work can be seen at www.nadineterk.com
