A minor victory in my world

Beautiful East Texas
As I slowly bring my FGT back on line from its long dormant phase due to
multiple gauge failures, I wanted to replace the OEM battery at the same time.

After an attempt to use an Odyssey 1400T went awry, I elected
to use one of the Sears Platinum Die Hard AGM batteries that many others
have used as a replacement.

After searching multiple Sears stores around the DFW area and finding only
versions that have been on the shelf for many months (some at the Tyler TX
store sitting since 2008) I finally located two fresh batteries at the Denton Sears
Automotive Center with mfg dates of 7/11. Woo Hoooo!

Picked it up last week as we were moving my step daughter into her her new
house, also in Denton.

Got the thing installed in my FGT and made a little test run last Sunday... first drive
in quite a while.

What a great feeling it is to again get my car back in action.:biggrin

What happened with the Odyssey?

The 1400T was too tall. It fit in the battery holder, but the front inner liner hit the
battery posts before it was seated all the way down.

I suspect a 1200T might work, but since I used the application guide on the Odessey
web site (which indicated 1400T for our cars) and it didn't work... I became frustrated.

I just returned it for credit.

Shipping was expensive as those darn things are pretty heavy.

The new gauges look 'fricken AWESOME!!!!! Mardyn - I think you have done too good of a job and will have people thinking about removing their OEM panels and presumably "saving them" in order to have what you have done. Once again, from all that you have shared - OUTSTANDING JOB!

Pics....you can't post stuff like that without pics dang you!!!!!!!!

I agree, especially after a lead in like that.

Sorry guys, I can't post up the gauge pics on the forum without permission.

I don't have that yet.

I appreciate the nice comments made thus far concerning the project. I'm working
with a couple of very talented guys at the mfg that deserve the majority of the credit.

I vote for engine turned face plate and white face gauges, shake up the cockpit a little. Keep up the good work and thanks.
