Our GT brother Nardo has been telling us about the Ford Cobra Shelby Reunion weekend at and around the NHRA Museum in Pomona, CA coming up on April 19-22.

It looks like it will be quite an event, with plenty of diverse activities to join in on.

I don't mean to do an end run, but I thought I'd start a new thread and clip on the webpage with the Event Registration Form (midway down the page on the right, red lettering) for you to check out.

Sounds like a mini GT Rally to me! :thumbsup

The GT Speed Day at Mojave is April 21 Saturday. That's where I'll be trying to take a blown GT to 220+. Wish I could do both.

As a followup to Jeff's post, I just received a letter from the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum as follows:

"Dear Ford-Cobra-Shelby enthusiest:

"If, at a later date, you decide you would like to enjoy some of our other events then we would be please to accommodate you.

Wow - wish we didn't have ski races, as I watched 3 or 4 races at Pomona from 1959-1964. Wish I could be there.

Oh, I mean as a passenger. I wouldn't want anyone to be responsible for blowing up my engine except me!

Ed

Thanks Ralphie, that is just what I was looking for.....the $699 was sticking in my craw. Now I can go for a couple days of tracking and see all kinds of historic Fords along the way.

Is the open track on still?

Ed

Ed, I emailed Lynn Rose on Thursday that's who sent me my registration materials. I was told they were close to getting a "benefactor" that would get the track day(s) back on, but as of Thursday no track days.

There is lots of conflicting info on this event. First a 4 day event+track, then added track only, but now maybe only a one day social gathering Check the site - it's now a one day "show and shine" with no track on the 21st

Maybe the problem is having the NHRA run it instead of SAAC. Better yet, they should've had DBK do it!

Ed
