2016 Pebble Beach Concours Week

Is anyone going to the Jet center party tomorrow ?

If you mean McCall's, I've been to it in the past. It's worth going but over the years they have over-invited so it's way too crowded. It didn't used to be that way but I think they are now blinded with dollar signs. There are cool cars & planes though.

Yes, I meant McCalls, and true it does get crowded, but everything this week is crowded. I believe that it is a charity fund raiser, so hopefully all those $ signs goes to a good cause. Hopefully I will see you around Monterey this week.

I'm going to a few auction previews, driving on the PCH, Concourso Italiano (ByeEnzo will have his Miura there) & lots of dinners! Call me Steve if you want to join us for anything.

I will be at Concorso Sat, so I will see you there for sure.

Sere you there!

Flew out yesterday. Got my green machine off the hauler. Nice drive out to Carmel Valley Village. Ran into my big brother. Bit hazy due to Big Sur fire. Finished up the day in Carmel for cocktails. Going to drive down the PCH, if possible, today. Or hit some wineries!

I will be there, but I am bringing my Z 8 for BMW's 100th. We will be on the Grass at the Quail as invited guests. Perhaps, I can meet some of you there? My Plate is New York LUV MYZ8.

Joe

Joe I see your Z8. It's beautiful

It was nice meeting you car to car. I wish we had met at the Qual.

Ajai, great to see you using your Miura so much. Have you had any mechanical issues? I have considered getting one, but I don't spend that much money on something unless I can actually use it, the way you appear to.

Ajai and DBK it was great meeting you at the Quail. Looking forward to seeing you guys again at Rally 11.

My car seems very well sorted. The guy who restored it spent 3 years and 4000 hrs on it. He's a mechanical genius. Subsequent owners also cared well for it. Car is a P400 but has an SV build on the motor. It has S brakes. Ignition system upgrades. Stiffened chassis upgrades vs an original P400. For a 50 y/o machine it is a rocket!

Greg Miller bought Carroll Shelby's original Cobra, CSX2000, for 12.5M. It will be at the Shelby American Collection annual fundraiser in two weeks.

Pebble Beach Preview

I was at Pebble Beach tonight and the GT40 collection was already in place. Most of the cars had covers on them, but a few didn't and I took some photos. Should be quite a show tomorrow.

2016 Pebble Beach Commemorative Image

Also, the official poster image for this year's Pebble Beach is the Ken Eberts painting of the 1966 Le Mans winners.

There are various sizes of the poster available, but I found this cool mug in the gift shop on the 18th Green. At $24 it's a bit pricey, but a great way to remember the event. Image is on both sides of the mug, so no matter how you hold your coffee you can see it.
