That was cool. I like the FGT blue valve covers on the GT500. I bought a set of blue FGT valve covers for my 2009 GT500 but have not put them on yet. I missed the first part of the webcast. Did they mention the weight savings from the aluminum block?

Vert 30% stiffer than 2010
All alluminum block, NO sleves. A plasma coating on the walls.
3 second a lap faster on a 2.2 mile road course on the performance package, which is wheels (19" 20" and tires a new GY supercar tire, that even though are bigger are just as strong but are 2-5 lbs lighter front to back) 3.73 gears, SS kit, different stripes, 11mm lower. Many more details I cant remember.
No gas guzzeler any more either

120 lb weight drop is no mean feat. It's really nice to hear of this.
What's the weight of the new 5.0 GT, 3500lbs? If so, what makes up the difference between the GT and the Shelby? It would be nice to get the car down to the 3500 range, but I know that's asking too much.

RE the new coated non liner block. Will Matech be using this hereafter on their GTs for the weight savings? Will Ford be offering as a short block?
It's really terrific to see Ford coming out with dynamite technology is this business climate. I have a friend, a dyed in the wool Chevy guy, who raced 'Vettes in the '60s and 70s talking about buying a Shelby because of Ford's not taking federal bailout $$. This type of thing will only accentuate his interest.

OK, I'm convinced, I think I need one of these 2011's with the performance package. May do top stripe delete, as I am not that keen on the narrow stripes.

2011 GT500 SVT Stripes
The SVT pkg. uses small stripes like our GT gals with small side stripes. My order is with Kona Blue with Red stripes with Silver accent stripes. The Red with Silver on Kona Blue should be an interesting combo. Anyone do a Photoshop??? GO BLU
