It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Paul R. Cavonis—a devoted attorney, mentor, and integral member of the DeLoach, Hofstra & Cavonis, P.A. and Seminole Title Company family for more than 30 years.

Paul was a formidable trial attorney whose extensive courtroom experience—across both jury and non-jury trials—earned him a well-deserved reputation for excellence in Injury Law. Known for his meticulous preparation and fearless advocacy, Paul often said there was no mystery to achieving justice—only preparation, experience, and the courage to assert a client’s rights. His principled approach led to countless favorable outcomes, many resolved through settlement, because opposing counsel knew he was always ready and willing to take a case to trial.

But Paul was so much more than a skilled litigator. He was a trusted mentor, a thoughtful leader, and a true friend to many. His unwavering commitment to justice, integrity, and the people he served left a lasting impression—not only on his clients but also on the colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Outside the courtroom, Paul was a passionate motorsports enthusiast. As he once shared, “I’ve always loved performance cars, motorcycles, and racing. Many of my favorite family memories involve motorsports.” He founded HelpForTheHurt Motorsports as a way to connect with fellow enthusiasts and share his love of cars—especially his Ford GTs—with the community. He loved seeing the joy and excitement on children’s faces when they experienced these incredible vehicles up close. Whether rebuilding axles or replacing clutches, Paul relished the hands-on work and the camaraderie that came with motorsports. One of his greatest joys was attending the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which he experienced in person many times.

Above all, Paul was a devoted family man. He deeply loved his wife, three children, and granddaughter. He was a cherished brother, uncle, son-in-law, and brother-in-law who treasured his extended family. His legal legacy continues through two of his children—Michael Cavonis and Emily Cavonis Van Den Langenberg—both attorneys at our firm. His greatest joy was time spent with them, and his spirit lives on in their hearts, in the clients he served, and in the high standards he helped establish within our firm and the legal profession.

Paul will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

Paul's family reached out to deliver this tragic news. Paul was an outstanding gentleman, and truly a great guy to be around. He was one of the earliest members here and was always helpful and quick witted in his interactions with other members. He truly was an enthusiast's enthusiast. I always enjoyed spending time with him and his outstanding family at GT Rally and Le Mans, and he was very easy to spot while sporting his trademark infectious smile. He used to always come with his wonderful wife Julie and in more recent years often also brought his son Michael and his wife Maggie. Truly a shock to lose him at just 56. He will be dearly missed.

Our deepest condolences to Paul's family.

Holy crap. Wow, that's terrible.

At Rally 13 Paul, his wife, son and his fiance sat with me and my friend Hank at the lunch in Payson, when us not knowing many other GT folks at the time, that helped us feel welcome. Appreciated that and getting to know his family. I feel badly for them.

Rest in Peace, Paul.

What a shocking loss. Paul was part of our small South Florida GT community, which included the irreplaceable Xcentic.

Sad news, and gone too soon. A great guy, and from the obit, also a great lawyer. He will be missed by many.

Paul was as fine of a gentleman as I've ever met, and I am very saddened by this news. I had recently chatted with him and he was excited about his new grandchild, and spending more time with his family in his RV. Although I had never met Paul in person until Rally 10, I knew he was a gem of a fellow a few years earlier, when he helped me out by checking out a 427 Cobra there in Florida that I was interested in (I ended up buying it). He was a wealth of information on those, and a million other topics. "Sinovac" was always one of those names on the Forum that made me sit up and read with attention, when he posted. Godspeed, Paul. You will be greatly missed.

Very sorry to hear of his passing. He was a good friend and confidant. I used to love sitting with him and Gary Jean during an argument. My deepest condolences to his wife and family. His wife threw the BEST new GT delivery party ever (I was not there, but the pics and messages were fabulous).

Being friends with Paul and Gary were some of the best benefits of being a GT owner. They are both sorely missed.

Speechless .. Paul was one of our fine Florida GT fanatics... When I had my debut party back in 2017 he toted his wife and family across the state to attend.. God Speed Paul... You will be missed... my condolences to the family..

Although I did not know him as well as others here at the Forum, I was always impressed by his demeanor, intellect and sense of humor. Truly a class individual and he will undoubtedly be missed by all that knew him. Thoughts and prayers to his family. RIP Paul.

Man, that’s sad. Wonderful guy. Enjoyed talking with him at rallies. His contributions to our community were on point. RIP.

Very sad news and such a young age. Our condolences to the family, he will be missed.

Wow so sorry to hear. So young and so vital. I think of him with his family close by and as a friendly, kind and life loving person. Humanity lost a model human being. He will be missed. Rest in peace Paul.

Very, very sad news. My sincere condolences to friends and family. This community is lessened without his proactive and witty contributions. Especially sad when such a fine person is taken at a young age. We'll miss him.

This is such an unbelievable loss. And the on line banter between Paul and Gary was epic. Rest in peace Paul.

My condolences to friends and family.
