Any thoughts on a P0307 code?

The code is a fault cylinder misfire detected cylinder 7.

Car will be heading to the dealer next week to try to solve this problem.

Car runs great until you step on it and the computer kicks in and slows it down. Maybe a bad coil or fuel injector.

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I saw your thread yesterday and was going to comment

I assume that you have cleared the fault code and the situation is able to be duplicated? If this is the case then isolating the problem should be painless.

Speculation is the best I can offer nonetheless I would agree with the items on your short list; maybe even a spark plug if you have replaced them during the course of a pulley swap; meaning if you installed a set of the typical NGK plugs.

Please let us know what the results are once your gal returns from the doctor

Yep cleared the code only to have it return when I lean on it. If I drive it light - no problem - but that is almost impossible:biggrin

Have an appointment next Wed with the service mgr at the dealership where I bought the car and should be able to solve it fairly quickly. My only concern is they have never worked on a GT before:eek I have already mentioned that I go everywhere the car goes so I think it will be fine.

I will update the saga next week, but any other commments are more than welcome.

:cheers

Check the plug, coil and injectors on cylinder 7. I don't know which one 7 is though.

#7 cylinder is on the drivers side third one back. Try this switch the coil with the rear cylinder next to #7 that is #8. clear the code and drive it. If the concern now goes to #8 cylinder you simply need to replace the defective coil. The coils do fail occasionaly.

Update

Finally got time to work on the GT and tried the suggestion from GTCharlie - Bingo!!! :thumbsup
Took it for a short spin and cylinder 8 now has the misfire. I will order a new coil from the dealer on Monday and hopefully put this problem to rest.

Couldn't have done it without the SCT Xcalibrator from Torrie and the great tip from GTCharlie - Thanks guys!!:thumbsup
