Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

power steering hose? do they blow?
The power steering return hose, from the p/s pump to the reservoir are deteriorating from the inside out. If you feel the hose, it will feel greasy. This hose is not serviced anymore. It is only available from Me or Rich Brooks, the GT guy. We only have a limited amount and when these are gone, there will be no more. As the hose is low pressure, it won't blow out, but because they are deteriorating from the inside out, any crud will be circulating through out the steering system.

Why did you not drive the heritage?

Can only drive one car at a time, and like to alternate them.

I sure hope everyone does the power steering hose replacement as an upgrade. Rich Brooks (the GT guy) and I are the only place replacements are available. When these are gone, there will be no more.
Appreciate the heads up on this, didn't know it was a potential issue.

Are you using OEM replacement then? Is it New Old Stock? How do we order them from you, and can it be local dealer installed? (Ken Grody Ford in Buena Park or Galpin Ford in N.Hollywood?

They deteriorate.

Is a braided SS line possible?

I would say no. The hose is held on with clamps and not threaded fittings. But the experts selling the hoses need to confirm.

Took it out on PCH for a little drive along the coast and met some friends at Ruby's Diner, had (a rather late) lunch on the upstairs patio with a view of the Pacific Ocean. And met a Naval Aviator (F-18) with a Jaguar XKE for the first time. He was admiring my GT in the parking lot, and he wanted to learn more about them.

That's one of the fun things about the GT's. Not only our own brotherhood and community, which has been amazing, but also making friendships amongst the larger automotive enthusiast community too.

Never a dull conversation, whether it's high performance fighter planes or high performance cars. It awakens the passion in people.

An outing with the Puget Sound Ferrari Club 2 weeks ago. We drove up to a BBQ place near Mt. Vernon, WA for lunch then up to “Artist Point” overlooking Mt. Baker and the northern Cascades. Too bad we had a lot of smoke in the air from wildfires. But you can still the dramatic scenery.

First 2 is when I came out to wake “sleeping beauty”, finally took the OEM cover out of the bag. The last two pictures, or when I got home, wanted to try out the OEM cover, I would have morning do you want it. I bet you can guess who’s hiding under the cover!

I believe it’s a McLaren Elva.
