New Ford GT unveiling

knowing how much one small CF piece on the new GT costs.. I can only imagine what a larger panel will cost if damaged.

Example: A door assembly is $16,000 not including finish.

That's actually cheap compared to the CF rear bumper panel that surrounds the license plate at $6,500

Sure hope I dont run out of talent in this car...

The bigger concern is the talentless masses preoccupied with their cell phones while driving in front, next and behind you.

I know! ....but I hear Detroit puts the 'Show' in 'Auto Show'....I feel quite tempted in going in June!...plus it'll be another chance to see the liquid carbon again...that car is mental

You are correct about DETROIT. it is 'home' and the companies put everything they have into the effort.
Also, this June will be the first time in forever that the show will be in Summer . Up till now we had to slog thru 6-12 inches of snow every year.
It should be good!

That is a very nice picture of my car.

Any idea what's the curb weight of the Liquid Carbon car? The power to weight ratio must be pretty impressive not to mention the lowered center of gravity.

Shouldn’t be much different at all. Oceans of clear coat.

Chicago was the original home of American automobile manufacturing but switched to Detroit after Henry Ford rocked the world. Still the Chicago Auto Show is the largest & oldest show in America

$250,000 paint delete option.

I'm sure Porsche is wondering why they didn't think of that first!

They did.

Not that bad of a deal. It's more expensive on a Bugatti Chiron...

Exactly. Seems like a lot of money for a cosmetic option with increased maintenance and repair costs to follow if there is no measurable performance advantage. I get the rarity aspect, but 50% markup seems like a lot just for appearance.

McLaren, Pagani, Bugatti, Lamborghini will all do the same for similar pricing. I don't even know what a P1 bare carbon body cost at the time, but I recall people saying it cost roughly the same amount as a 650S.

In fact, in the budget-conscious world I pretend to live in, you can get an entire (used) supercar for $250K!
