It would be super if they would step up, I know Neil had his bolts changed as part of his journey to LeMans. This issue is getting so boring, and absurd that Ford doesn't do a recall. Anyone who doesn't take action is facing a nasty game of roulette.

I too agree that the thread, if of a single person’s saga that simply rolled on and on it would be boring however when one considers that Ford presented gals to the marketplace with a retail value of approximately $650 Million dollars that require on a retail level approximately $2.5 Million dollars to correct and in some cases to afford simple “Peace of Mind” then the only term I can use is “Ridiculous”.
As much as I hate and am tired of this thread I for one feel that it is important to keep this thread alive if for no other reason than to show Ford that they need to think long and hard before venturing into this arena again. Furthermore it shows that as a group we are extremely reasonable people being treated badly in fact by some accounts ignored by a group of unreasonable people.
I have shared on more than one occasion that the fix is straightforward, should be done by “ALL” and one that I will deal with myself however independent of this fact Ford and Ricardo team should simply care enough to have invited themselves into this thread and said “thank you” for buying our product and believing in us
I looked at the Ricardo site and was surprised to see that within the text supporting the design and implementation of the Bugatti Veyron transmission they state it was a success however no similar mention was made within the text supporting the transaxle as presented for the GT.
I suspect that they are very aware of the situation and as the time rolls by; as with Ford they hope that it will simply go away. Otherwise Ricardo (if they cared) could have end gamed Ford with a mandatory retro-fit of the hardware and a torque verification process so as to cover their proverbial ass.
I am glad that to date no one has been pelted in the ass when attempting to leave a stop light only to find that their gal is DOA. Liability is a funny thing when presented to the powers to be and the fact that there is history of this problem in no way means that Ford is wearing the “We Know” pin even though by now all have come to recognize that they are wearing the “We Do Not Care” pin.

Huum; my gut tells me that this situation albeit made better with the quote "later style hardened washers" is really more a problem based on the methodical or what appears to be a lack thereof installation procedures and use of exacting torque specifications during the process.
The more I think about it the stronger I feel about the fact that Ricardo needs to be contacted directly and have them instruct all on their process considering that the transaxle and clutch assembly was designed and fabricated by them. Furthermore it would simply be nice to hear their take on the situation.
So I reiterate a previous poster's comments asking if a direct contact can be made by a fellow GT owner in the UK on the groups behalf.
This would be greatly appreciated.

This bolt problem is due to a $hitty design. I can guarantee you it isn't going away without a major design change. Take a look at how this system works or (dosen't work). This isn't rocket science folks. Ford & Ricardo know whats going on here and they need to step up and get her done. I know that I am an a$$hole to some for my opinions on this subject but the whole thing just sucks. I love my ride and now have 9300mi without a failure yet but I know it will happen without a doubt.

Has anyone at Ford US offered any meaningful explanation of this issue or, has anyone named a name at Ricardo?
Does anyone here have their old (silver) washers if they're needed for a detailed examination by Ricardo?

Neilda, I welcome your help, but I fear that we won't get any answers except the ones forced by a court of law. Some people call me a pessimist, I reply that I am a realist. If it is a design problem, the fixes can get very expensive. Ford doesn't want to pay up unless forced to do so. It will be less costly to cover any failures during the remaining warrantee period and then wipe their hands of any further costs. Caveat emptor!
That being said, I think if there is a design problem FGT owners have the means and the will to take Ford to court and get this fixed the right way. Ford is not screwing around with Mustang buyers that cannot come up with the necessary legal retainer.

I made this a post but it was deleted and merged so it got pushed to the pack of an old post. It's a plausible theory which has more serious implications if this is what's happening ??

Am I correct that the seals, seal the output shaft to the transaxle case? If so what is the TSB for that suggest that a tech put rtv sealant on the splines of the output shaft before bolting on the output flange? The splines should never have oil on anyway. They are on the outside of the seals.
