Traffic Cameras in France Fines???

Is anyone else still getting traffic fines from France? I just got one, that was issued in October (took that long to get to me???), where the infraction was June 15th? Another 68 Euros (increased fine because of time it took to pay, up from 45 euro). And not like it was even worth it in the fun department, a whopping 97kph in a 90 zone (assuming I understood it correctly as the damn thing is in French).

Annoying.

And I had no idea what section to post in, so as we were there for the 2017 GT, here it goes.
 
Are you going back ? If you do not pay France will send over a secret agent to kidnap you, wisk you to France, make you do hard time,
and then make you swim back....You should pay the fine since we are all in this together....
 
If you were having just a few kph more fun, you can be sure the fun tax would be much higher.

On a positive note, the dollar is about 12% stronger vs. the Euro than it was in June. :)
 
I just asked my motorcycle friend that lives in FR about it & he says to ignore it. They won't pursue it any further & they don't keep records about it. He says BE, LU & DE do keep records but not FR.

I am surprised any of these countries keep any records of who is in or out of their country. !
They may track your license plate however...

Hertz got 2 directly and were automatically thrown on my Amex, had no idea until I got a letter from hertz. I got one in the mail over the summer, then another this week. I paid both online (interesting the only friggin thing in English is the payment website). I can see a warrant sitting there for me the next time I go to France if these were all ignored. 68euro compared to the cost of the rest of the trip, is manageable. If I got 4, and drove fairly slowly, wonder how many the GT crew caravan got..... Good luck figuring out the us licence plates....
 
We drove very fast but always slowed down for the fixed radar locations. They post signs before the radar location to slow down. Never received one ticket.

Yup. A local Frenchman said to ignore it since it's such a small speed penalty and fine. I guess it's nothing like we have...
 
Somehow Avis hit me with one a month or two ago
Cost under $100 but not sure how I got one

We were blowing past those cameras at warp speed, sometimes at 150+mph. They photo the front plate over there and none of us had one. When DBK and Matt were detained at the Italy-France border for insane speed they were ultimately let go because there were no photos of a front plate proving it was them. It could have been another pair of red and white GT's on that road that day. I was happy to get on the ferry and back across the channel into England and I wasnt really relaxed about it till my car was out of Europe. I'm knocking on wood but I doubt they will catch up to us now. Cheers.

Chip...that was just and awkward feeling. Going 100+ mph over the speed limit and then all you see is as bunch of flashes going off. Just keep going i guess.

Also, kind of strange but they almost didn't let us do the Nurburgring due to no front license plate. They stopped us at the start and told us, "no way" and that is when i threw Dave under the bus and said, "that guy in front of me has no front plate and he got in." Off we went.....thanks, Dave. :)
 
Every story I hear about that trip you guys did in your GTs blows me away! Once in a lifetime type stuff!

I got that too just as a "processing fee". Had nothing to do with the price of the ticket itself. Just giving the French authorities my info.
 
Honestly I thought the German derestricted autobahn sign meant the same thing in Italy. Guess not. Whoops.

That was some great driving though. I was hooked up with some dude in an Italian plated 911 for a long time after we left Lake Como and he sure thought it meant the same thing. He was still going deep triple digits when it started pouring rain!
 
The Italian freeways were more fun than the German ones (except when Fiat vans pull out infront of you when you're doing 140). Jeremy Clarkson says he prefers driving in Italy because everytime you overtake someone, they take it as a challenge to race.
 
Can't imagine any reciprocity for that into the US.
