The Concorso Italiano program for this year features an article by Wallace Wyss on Lamborghini turning 50 and a little history of some of the Lamborghinis of the past and present. At the end of the write up, there is tangential mention of the Ford GT (and Jaguar XJ220).
"As for the Americans entering the super exotic field, don't raise your hopes. The last American automaker to try was Ford, who briefly attempted with the Ford GT in '05 and '06 but couldn't keep up the effort, dropping out of the supercar field with only 4,038 sold. Their cars were flawed, didn't have an automatic, and lacked what former Ford exec Lee Iacocca called 'pizzazz' ".
Wow, and I thought the GT did have pizzazz....
I would choose a manual over an automatic in the car for sure...
what flaws? The dreaded loose door trim?
