Rally 8 Scheduled September 3-7, 2013

Booked!!

Also Booked............GO BLU

Booked also....assuming I can get the gt down from Alberta. The timing WAS perfect to allow me to trailor it down after my sons wedding on the 31 st but now with the change of dates I'm VERY squeezed for time and the So Cal route is deff out. Any other Albertans heading down ? .....What are your transport plans? Maybe there's enough interest to have several shipped on one carrier !?

Contact Pro (Superfly) and Steve (Colton74). They were grumbling about possibly coming down if they could arrange transport.

Booked and Ready To Go.

Booked room looking forward to our second rally

They will pick up anywhere in the states .They have many transporters .I am hoping to get a deal for the rally goers
I am undeceided on taking my car but in Atlanta and interested. It is a great time of year in Ca.

On the same note, the owner of Reliable Carriers (the original Ford GT shipper), is a multi-GT owner/forum member that lives in my area and reads the forum all the time. We talked yesterday and he might be able to assist us, but as the exclusive carrier of a number of major auto events, August/September has them swamped. I think he said they are shipping nearly 800 cars just for 1-2 events in that time period. Hopefully we can work it out.

While on the topic of transport/ancillary services, does anyone know of a good handwash place in the area? Some of us will be driving 3-500 miles and more just to get to the Rally. Cars will be looking a bit worse for wear at that point. Call my crazy, but I'm not taking the car through the Chevron drive thru car wash.

PS After this Rally I will let DBK do everything on his own as it is too much work & stress! How did he do it for 7 other Rallies?

This is the reason I NEVER complain about anything at events others have organized. I know what a ridiculous amount of work these things are, and I am truly thankful all I have to do is show up and enjoy.

I second the motion. Thanks to Ed and Dave and Chip and Kendall for their work in setting up the Rally and Rallys To Rallys.

There are some full service car washes, however I do not know of one that is completely hand wash. I will do a little research and let everyone know what I find.

I dry wash always. I can show you how Bonehead. Drive to my place & we'll do your car. You don't need water & can do it anywhere!

Thanks Ed. I know all about 'waterless' washing techniques. I bought a bottle of Optimum way back when it was one of the first (or THE first?) product on the market a few years ago. Watched the videos, read the forums. In the end, IMO, it's still rubbing dirt and debris back into the paint. It's a decent technique when you're in a pinch (i.e. live in a condo, during winter back East), but if given the choice, I'll always go for a traditional wash.

What is parking like for a transporter? Same rig that I had a R6.
I have a few GT'S that would like to come.

Cheers
Trent

“O” Happy Days, Booked room and transport set up and counting days.

The Hotel has great underground parking for the cars however is very limited on trailer parking or even unloading, so a relationship with Sonoma Raceway is being worked on. Will have details in a week or two.
