I am familiar with how GT's were built/painted. So my question is, are there issues with different panels, on white cars yellowing? Not the clear bra, but the actual paint/clearcoat. Is it noticable or expected, or not an issue? Does your white car have mismatched or noticable yellowing panels?
Sorry to bring this up, but I'm talking to a seller where this has been an issue. So is it just this car, or a commom trait? Thanks, for you imput.

I've seen lots of white cars, had mine for 2 years now, this is the first I've heard of this

No, this is not a known problem. I have had atleast 75 white GTs, none of which had yellow panels

Never heard of it. 25,000 miles and I've seen just about everything short of snow.

You might want to pass.

The only thing I have ever seen turn yellow on any factory painted GT is clear bra. And I see about a 100 GT's per year at the rally's :biggrin

Doc...are you the one that calls me every now & again about my white / blue 2k Miles ?

I would assume that the car in question has had some issues, and the repainting was not done properly....:thumbsdow

Pass; bad prep & paint

Nope, not me. Are you thinking of selling?

I haven't seen that except for the white stripe, on my blue/wht car, near the exhaust pipes the color has tint of brown from the exhaust. I think it will rub out without problems, but didn't come off with a normal wash.

I've seen some wax jobs cause yellowing on white cars. it wouldn't be the paint but the wax?

A clay bar cleaning should restore this effect...

Why take the chance!! To be on the safe side I suggest that you start out by buying a yellow GT.

Are you sure that your GT was not actually white some time ago?

Good one MT. Let me rephase it. Is there any difference in the shading between the top of the fenders, and the hood/bonnet, along with the side scoops, they seem to be whiter, than the rest of the car? Is is just this car, or can you guys say your panels are a perfect match?

Wrap it!

It could have been machine buffed improperly and subsequently burnt the clear coat finish causing it to yellow. But chances are that car does not have the factory clear coat on those specific panels that are yellowing.
