Does anyone run any SCCA Solo 2 events ? What class would a pulley - tune car be in ? Additional mods, shocks, brakes, exhaust , Wheels and tires .. Thanks in advance

In Solo II I enter my GT in the "Cone Crushing" class.

I have autoxed multiple times with SCCA but just ran "fun Runs" which don't count in results. You can run most of the mods you mention without penalty since these upgrades are allowed in stock classes now (don't tell them about the pulley and tune). A wing will move you into a street mod class where you will get slaughtered since these cars are some of the fastest cars running as will race tires where you would move to a race tire class and also get killed. The left hand pillar is such a problem from a vision stand point that it is almost impossible to autox competitively. I found that disconnecting the front sway bar really helped on tight courses, the GT is much better on very fast sweeping courses that are not common in autox. Track days are where these cars really shine because of their high speed cornering capability vs other cars.

Ironically, cobra498, and I discussed solo 2 in UT. Small and nimble is the name of the game in Solo 2. big honkin cars, weeeellll not so much, and then factor in the A pillar?

I probably have not autocrossed since maybe 1992. I stopped, because I discovered the track. A typical Auto X, drive to the event, usually what 1-3 hours eachway, and you get maybe 4 runs that are, what, 1.5 minutes each?? Anyway the reason for ramble, in ONE session at a track event, you have more than doubled your seat time that you get in a whole day at an auto x..... My 2c

When I did Solo II with the SF Region SCCA all drivers had to work on the course or timing. So seat time less than 5 minutes & work 2 hours. I like renting Thunderhill for a day. You can do an auto-x course, drfting course or the road course for no work & 8 hours seat time.

Exactly! Working on the next private open track day now, the only way to fly!
