performance wise, can the GT with pulley and tune hang with a ZR1? I have a friend with one, maybe we'll give it a try.....

"FBA". Thought your response in general a bit rougher than what we are use to around here.
But, anyway, as to fit/ finish I have owned every Gen Viper-- a total of 7 over 18 years and -an 09and 10. Maybe you got a perfect one but no way my Vipers have had near the quality of fit/finish of my 3 GTs. In fact it is common knowledge (and dealers have complained a bunch ) that the paint on Vipers staring with Gen 3 has been a real problem and a bunch of 10s look liked they were buffed at the local car wash.

I never see unattractive women in passenger seats of Vettes

No other car has that consistency
agree with the assessment on the zr1, z06, coupe all look the same from a distance. America has one supercar and it is the gt.... All the comparos in the world will never make the zr1 a supercar imo....
Rumor on the street has it that a convertible camaro with the ctsv engine option will be coming out soon. That would make for a nice convertible
...5) This one is the hardest , go out and make a legacy and win some major races when all odds are against you so the car you produce is a remembrance of a legend....
Appreciation/Depreciation isn't the reason I bought my GT...nor any other vehicle I own. Cars are a depreciating asset, period. My GT may one day be worth more than today, maybe a lot, or maybe not at all. If you want an appreciating asset, cars are not that - buy real estate, bonds, or other interest bearing devices...
I bought my GT to drive and enjoy, same reason I bought my Viper and my Z06, and my super bikes...
I enjoy driving my rapidly depreciating Z06 and Viper!! I invest into and do other things to make money so I can afford these depreciating assets!
The Corvette C5R's and C6R's have amassed a very good racing record - I wouldn't put them down!
It is quite simple , if GM and Dodge want to make supercars like the GT they only have to do a few things
1) Stop making their cars every year in mass produvtion,
2) Go to a mid engine design
3) Change the car shape so it looks like something new , not the same look every year
4) 200 mph off the production line , no mods
5) This one is the hardest , go out and make a legacy and win some major races when all odds are against you so the car you produce is a remembrance of a legend
Anyone can build a 600hp production car and say it can beat the GT , so what , my buddy at work says his new cadillac can beat the GT , I say to him you just paid over 100K for that car and when you take it out of the garage no one cares except you , I hate to say it but when I see a ZR1 or a Z06 go by it means nothing to me , nice cars and well engineered but lacking the supercar status
